It's butterfly but I went ahead and installed it per instructions. Meaning before I cut the liner. It does seem wrong because water can possibly get behind the liner now. I didn't fill the water. It's still a few inches below the skimmer so I can change it. :brickwall:

Never mind I must be over tired. It says to install the gasket from outside of the pool so it can go half inside and half outside but then the gasket will be under the liner. Is this the correct way? Sorry. I had a long day yesterday and don't want any more problems. Sorry...
