What is the best sequesterant to use after AA treatment?

Jack's magic the pink stuff, should work, but you'll have to continue usage to keep it fully stain free. If the iron is out of solution after adding chlorine and the water turns green, you can put poly fill in the skimmer to try capturing the iron, but it won't work after the sequestrant puts...

    Brown staining in pool. Copper?

It's important to put some kind of water filter inline when you refill (to prevent iron), otherwise you'll be back to square one. Ive got trace iron in my city water as well. Been thinking of adding an RV softener.

Dealing with bees squatting in rocks

I had an issue w them last summer. I couldn't take off my bubble cover without getting harassed by them. Went on for about 2 weeks. I got them to go away by spraying water with some dish soap all around the edges of the bubble cover about 5-6 times per day. They didn't like the taste and...

restoring in ground cement pool that possibly had liner

Yeah I would pay for custom laser measuring of the liner. If anything is wrong, it's on them. Mine cost roughly 900 ish just for the measurements. You won't have to do it again. The new liner will have a serial number that the liner Co can make again when the new one needs to be replaced...

Mastertemp 400K BTU HD - Making a vibration or metal rubbing noise?

Maybe check that the inducer motor spins freely and isn't making contact with anything else. If it has one. You should also hear it at the beginning before the burners light. Could be bearings too.

Clear water but looks like pond foam - is it the filter?

How's your CH levels? Sometimes foaming can be mitigated with calcium .....at least 50 ppm on the ch test might clear that up. Worth a look. But I don't know why it's all brown like that, unless it's just dirty from winter time winds/dirt getting in.

Old pool that came with the house, very frustrated, I was unable to clear the pool all summer, about ready to drain and gut everything.

It almost sounds like another really long slam someone dealt with. The issue ended up being play sand in the filter, not pool filtering sand. It cleared up very quickly once the proper sand was installed. Thinking out loud. It may or may not be the cause. Worth considering.

    Pool leaking at buddy seat

You need something that can be applied and cures underwater, like flex seal. Marine sealant won't cure unless it's dry. For a quick possible fix, cut a piece of Saran wrap and place it in the leak area. It might draw the plastic in under pressure, reducing the leak greatly. I had a recent...

    Where’s the Heat!?

Interesting. It's been different in the Pacific NW the past few weeks. Normal first swimming day is memorial weekend. This year it was 2nd weekend in May. Been swimming almost daily since, except for a few rainy days. So about 2 weeks ahead of the usual here.

Something on filter sucking air after backwash

Hmm replacing sand wouldn't really have any affect on that. More likely the removal of the multiport and putting it back together did that.. I have that same multiport valve. You should probably replace it if a new seal doesn't do. Mine had developed a hair line fracture and needed replacing.

    Leak at heater

I had a leak just like that on the suction side too. The repair tech said there was no glue in my case. Hard to believe but true. Might just need some new pipe glue.

Cloudy Blue water 1 week after opening

Probably an algae bloom, free chlorine at 3 is insufficient for a cya of 90. The paint probably isn't helping though that would cause slight clouding after swimming activity. My last pool had been painted as well.

Filter sand being shot into pool

You can re use the sand you have. It doesn't wear out at all. Good time for a deep clean, probably. But replacing it won't make any difference.

Cloud of dirt from returns for 5-10 seconds at pump startup

I had this happen once. It was actually sand. I had a suction side leak and lost prime every day. By the time the pump primed and starts moving water a bit of sand would belch out. Fixing the suction leak made that stop. I think one of the laterals was fractured though. It only spit some...

    Pool Blaster Cordless Pool Vacuums

I have the MAX Li. They're all probably lithium ion by now. That's what the Li meant. It's still doing well going on 5 years. I had the ni-cad battery version before that and it stopped working after year 2 due to moisture getting inside. This version didn't seem to seal up very well compared...

Hayward vs Raypak/Rheem Natural Gas Pressure Requirements

I don't see any reason why a replacement wouldn't work unless it's btu rating is vastly different. For example, I replaced a jandy lars lite 250k btu heater with a raypak 266k btu heater and it works just fine....if I wanted a 400k btu heater, then that might not work and need a different...

Is $5,500 too much for liner replacement?

Often behind the liner in the shallow side is a serial number, that can be used to cut a new one. Also need the brand. It's that or it gets custom measured for a bit more.
