Time for a new Filter??? Need your input!

Thanks all. I patched her up, got a racheting wrench to tighten the drain plug (never taking that off again ever) and 2 new filter panels. Good as new. Maybe a new filter in the next few years but not yet.

Time for a new Filter??? Need your input!

Pool is 20 years old, still has the OG filter and I believe it's time for a new one. - Current is a Pentair FNS Plus 60 sq ft, DE filter - Previous owner replaced some brass screws with hardware store wing nuts so those are rusting - Several of the filters have holes in them so I'm ~$100 bucks...

    Pool Fill Plumbing

Thanks all - there is nothing fancy about this. Just hooks up to the hose bib, I turn it on manually, pipe on right terminates above a skimmer for the purpose of filling the pool - and it works fine. Pipe on left goes to outdoor kitchen and has been broken a long time. Nothing automated, no...

    Pool Fill Plumbing

This pvc connector from the hose bib to the fill line has broken - I'm having trouble sourcing anything similar. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find something similar or an alternate way to connect this? Thanks.

How to Remove 3" Round Spot Drain Covers

Does anyone know the secret to removing the round drain sleeves and covers? I had a landscape guy clean some of these out and tie it into some drain lines for the yard, but he didn't get them all. He had a roll of chain link fence wire but unfortunately I didn't see him pull it up. So maybe the...

Thank you, I definitely need some adjustment here. My return is on the side (bottom of kidney you show here).

    Polaris Cord Tangling

This is a Polaris TR35P (like a 280), and the feed hose continually gets stuck as shown in the photo. Feed hose floats fine, swivel works well. Everything else is fine and when not tangled it works great. Should I add another swivel in there to facilitate non-kinking of the feed hose?

    Is my salt cell dead?

Replaced the cell with a Hayward T-CELL-15 and it's working fine now - thanks. Essentially the 3 year warranty through Hayward makes this roughly the same annual cost as the off-brand which only lasted 2 (and was ~$300 cheaper).

    My first tests…should I slam?

I would ask for my money back. You are basically doing their job for them whatever they did to "open". Dispute the CC transaction if they don't oblige.

    Gray Polaris Hose?

Over the weekend replaced my cleaner with a Polaris quattro sport, but wife HATES the black hose. My pool surface is gray. Could have sworn I have seen gray Polaris hoses before but cannot find them anywhere now. Does anyone have a source? checked Amazon, Inyo pools and no luck. Using the old...

    Leak from Returns?

Cleaning up my pool equipment area and was digging to put a new grade level yard drain in line with this flex hose drain pipe. Discovered this leak that appears to be coming from the return lines. I turned the pumps off and the flow rate didn't change, which makes me believe its on one of the...

Is Jacuzzi VSP same as Hayward Tristar?

It was time for a new main pump and I wanted to go variable speed. My independent pool pro quoted me for a "Hayward Tristar (jacuzzi) 2.7max hp" pump which I took to mean exactly that - a Hayward Tristar. Install day comes and he has it out of the box and plumbed in before I have eyes on it and...

Control Board Decision driven by new variable speed pump

I need to replace my main pump (2hp whisperflo) but I want to go with a variable speed that is compatible with a new control panel in the future (existing one is nearing EOL). That's where my brain starts to hurt... Current SWG is a T-CELL-15, controlled by a Hayward Aqualogic. Requirements...

    Troubleshooting Lights

In ground pool with one light in the pool (Pentair Amerilite) and one in the spa (Pentair Spabrite). I'm troubleshooting some issues where the lights switch off and trip the GFCI when either one is turned on. Fresh bulbs and seals in both, both are dry after a week but the circuit tripping thing...
