Replacing 1hp Hayward Super Pump with?

Still not grasping the value of these curves vs how to set up the variable speed and for how long on each speed. I'm still unsure; am I better getting a higher THP motor than lower in general?

Replacing 1hp Hayward Super Pump with?

PS. I've never heard of CaliMar. Are they comparable to the Hayward, Pentair, or Jacuzzi brands?

Replacing 1hp Hayward Super Pump with?

Thanks MKnauss. My desired flow is 35 gpm and 32 Total Dynamic Head. I'm likely not grasping the Performance Curve right for the CMARvsp3.0 and my situation but it seems only at the 2500 RPM does it achieve those numbers. At 1500r/min, it is below the 35/32. Is this desired? At higher speeds...

Replacing 1hp Hayward Super Pump with?

I've 22.5k gallon in-ground and my 18-yr old Hayward SuperPump motor/pump is leaking. I'm replacing motor and pump housing and I guess with a variable speed setup. I've no exotic water features; just a skimmer, floor drain, and two outlets. Piping seems to be all 1.5" pvc. Suggestions on brand...

    Polaris Prowler 920 tripping GFCI

Will it also trip a GFCI outlet in the garage or house (unsure if you were only checking in pool area)? If so, it may have an internal defect and the GFCI is working to protect you and yours and needs repair. For what is is worth, I never let anyone in the pool while the robot is in it and I...

Narrowing scope robot cleaners. Need input....

RoadRunnerTx, I'm a bit confused as well as I need a new one after some 17 year-old Dolphin Diagnostic died (actually, cable has an internal break but parts are too expensive). I've been searching for a few days not and am frustrated. I did borrow a Nautilus and it did an ok job but I noticed it...

    Heater noise with recording

Thanks! WHy the noise? Harmful to heater? I'll have to get that info (not my pool); Pump is a Jacuzzi variable speed and I believe a Raypak heater. How to know how high a setting on the pump? They only have like 1-4 speed settings (grrr).

    Heater noise with recording

Daughter's 1 year old heater makes an odd noise while heating. Here noise here. Any ideas what may be causing this sound?

Thanks Poolman; I appreciate the more how-to than other advice provided here.

    Help programming Jacuzzi jvs1651s pump

AJw22, I see you've >42k responses. Not to be ungrateful, but I was hoping for a more instructive response than I'll "discover". Given the wide range of possible run times and speeds, that could be a lengthy pass/fail process.

    Help programming Jacuzzi jvs1651s pump

Yes; SWG installed. "What that speed is is different on virtually all pools as the plumbing/equipment is different." So, as this pump etc... were not original equipment, how would a new system be set up? Suggestions so far seem to rely upon rather vague objectives candidly.

    Help programming Jacuzzi jvs1651s pump

Ajw22, ok on no need for 100% turnover. Then how are those speeds and times determined for chlorination?

    Help programming Jacuzzi jvs1651s pump

Daughter's pool (~24,000 gallons, plaster, in-ground) has a 1-yr old Jacuzzi variable speed pump (model #: jvs1651s, a 1.65 THP variable speed) into a Jacuzzi DE filter (jde48). I helped them open the pool this year and making sure filtering is set up right has me stumped. The pool installer...

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

I agree with you but who am I to argue with them. New one comes this Thursday so if it doesn't work, I'll be a bit disappointed.

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

Thanks all for the responses! I emailed Intermatic support (very good and prompt!) and he told me if the little backmost gear is spinning and no clock movement, then the motor is bad.

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

I think that the A terminal essentially connects to the plate the motor is connected to so in effect provides a path for the neutral. Otherwise, the motor would not work as all electric loads need a supply of voltage and a return. Correct?

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

1poolman1, where are you saying that the neutral from the 220v panel source cable should go once it enters this enclosure? ccbill, Here is present configuration (added ground wire to timer board). The clock motor wires are still connected to T1 and T3 as indicated in the diagram Intermatic...

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

Follow-up. New motor did not allow clock to move (original problem). I ordered a T104M mechanism from Intermatic and wired it according to the enclosed instructions. Again, clock does not advance/move. What to do now? Filter pump will turn on if I use the manual switch. I have the...

Intermatic timer replacement and wiring fix

Filter pump timer motor (wg1573-5) failed (no longer keeps time; clock face not turning). Enclosure is an Intermatic T21004R. Pump is on a 15 amp, 2-pole circuit breaker. When I removed the clock portion from the enclosure to get timer motor number, a red wire came loose (naturally, didn't spot...
