    SWG Salt reading spike

Hi, I've been running AquaPure 1400 for about 8 months w/o any issues w/ salt levels reading between 3300 & 3600 ppm... Tonight I logged in to adjust something and noticed that my swg is now reading 4500ppm... Any idea what would cause the sudden spike? Thanks!

    confused by test results

I guess the CYA loss is still a mystery then since I still see 0 CC... I'm in day of 2 of the slam and am still losing chlorine pretty fast, whatever 'bug' is eating up better stop soon :)

    confused by test results

So I did the overnight chlorine loss test and sure enough, I lost the entire gallon... went from 3.5 down to .5... guess it's time to shock... one part I don't understand is what happened to my cya... the pool was filled in Dec. at that time about 15lbs of CYA was added, cya was reading around...

    confused by test results

Hi, I've a 27k gal pool w/ swg. It was maintained by pb for first 2 mo. the chemo levels seemed to be ok. I used the tf100 test kit. Now that the pb is no longer maintaining the pool, I measured Fc for the first time since the salt was added & got the following results: FC 0.5 CC 0 CYA 20 TA...

    AquaPure 1400 runtime adjustements...

Thanks for the reply... a couple of follow up questions... What does chlorine usage have to do w/ water being warmer? I know UV impact chlorine decentigration, but what does temp have to do w/ that? How did you calculate the .57 ppm number? Thanks!

    AquaPure 1400 runtime adjustements...

Hi, We finally put salt into our recently completed 27K gal IG... The pool is controlled via Aqualink RS8 and has Aquapure 1400 SWG. The SWG is set to run @ 25%. Based on my understanding, that means the SWG is on 25% of the pump runtime. So, in my case, with the pump running for 10hrs/day, the...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

EllieWilliams, Thanks for the recommendations! Love the look of the plants, just checked, and it looks like that "Tangerine Beaty" only goes up to zone 9, I'm in 10a, not sure it'd be happy, but I'll ask my local nursery... The "Barbados Pride" looks great and would grow in zone 10a, but...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

From what I read, the entire tree is poisonous if ingested, the seeds, do however, have a much higher concentration of the toxin. I like the way the look, just not enough to risk my dogs getting hurt, or even a vet visit (one my dogs snorted a bee last year, can't imagine eating some palm would...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

I do have 2 Weimaraners that love to get in trouble, so gotta pass on Sago... Looks like I'll be looking at Pygmy Dates, and possibly "Bolivian Mountain Coconut Palms (Parajubaea Torallyi)" though it might be too big for what I want or, if I can make it work "SUGAR CANE PALM TREE (Dypsis...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

Unfortunately, you can't grow just about anything in Simi, especially in my yard :) The soil is VERY hard and doesn't drain well, I've augmented the top 2-3 feet, but once you go past that, it's just clay, and a lot of time, the water from sprinklers just stands there, rotting the roots...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

Hi, we're in the last steps of our IGP build & would love some suggestions on plants to put behind a bond beam. There's about 6' of space between bond beam and back block wall. We just want something green, very low maintenance that's not going to create a mess in the pool. The area gets full...

iAqualink with multiple VS pumps - how do you turn them off?

Re: iAqualink with multiple VS pumps - how do you turn them Figured out how to accomplish this... in iAqualink VS pump setup assign a specific speed to an available Aux port, in my case, I assigned to same Aux as I use to control the blower relay. Now when ever that Aux port is turned on/off so...

iAqualink with multiple VS pumps - how do you turn them off?

Hi, I've an iAqualink with 2 Intelliflo VS pumps. One is the main circulation pump, the other is the spa booster pump. The main circulation pump turns off when the system turns off 'pool mode', but there doesn't appear to be a way to turn off the booster pump w/o sending an all off command. Is...

    Check valve reducer?

Just thought of an easy solution for testing purposes... reverse the check valve, just open the cover and turn it 180 degrees to prevent any flow into the spa. If that fixes the pool return issues, I can mock around with ways to reduce the flow to the spa... I wonder if using a properly sized...

    Check valve reducer?

I was thinking of some sort of a stop to put inside the check valve that would prevent the flap from fully opening... Might even be something as hacky as a piece of 3/4" PVC held in place by the lid, just need to make sure it doesn't flip :)

    Check valve reducer?

The spa return looks like main drain, so it would be hard to reduce... I wanted to avoid reducing pool returns as spa clearly is returning too much, on full speed the spa return looks like a bubbler :)

    Check valve reducer?

Hi, our pool is almost done, and has been filled with water. The pool has 4 returns (2") and the spa has 1 2.5" return in the floor. The pool return is connected to spa return with a check valve right after the swg. What I'm seeing, is that the spa seems to be returning alot of the water, while...

    Big three warranty changes

This is simply put insanity! I just finished a new pool build using all Pentair eq., I don't have a single piece of paper proving it was installed by a licensed PB. My original agreement stated Jandy, we changed midstream, now what? Ive to prove to Pentair this is what happened if something...

That's just labor. The cost of material is negligible compared to the other stone. This is just hard to work with, per my PB.

Help needed with AZ flagstone - time sensitive

Thanks for all the suggestions / ideas. The PB was cool about it and we're going o try to switch it to gold Idaho quartzite, if the cost of additional labor doesn't prove to be too prohibitive... Anyone know how much more labor should I expect? Pb said he planned for 6 days of masonry work (3...

Help needed with AZ flagstone - time sensitive

Thanks for the quick reply... guess I need to plan a trip to the quarry to see what's there... WRT to SWG, we are doing salt. The PB swears by the fact that he's done many pools w/ salt & stone, oldest being about 10 years, and haven't had any issues... I've done a lot of reading on that...

Help needed with AZ flagstone - time sensitive

Hi, We're planning on using Arizona flagstone for our coping, and have selected 'buff' color based on the sample our pb brought over. When the stone arrived today it was much more pink then the sample. It looked a lot like 'Rosa' option we didn't go with. I know stone color will vary from...
