    Pool Temp too hot!

Wow, how scary is that? Luckily we haven't had any real damage from the storms in TX. We did watch the trampoline lift off the ground once, that freaked us out big time.

Troublefree Pools alot off topic but want to ask and...

Holy cow! I would totally trip out if someone was in my yard, much less my pool! Especially if I wasn't home. Just tell them there are liabilities to consider. What the heck? I can't even imagine!

    Big Ants in the pool

I have these too, mine have wings. I only see them after a rain, but there are a bunch of them. Sorry, no suggestions, just wanted to let you know you're not alone. We did have our pest control peeps spray the yard, maybe it will help!

    pool decking

The decking was done by the pool builder, I was never given a choice about it and didn't even know it would be an issue. I just knew I didn't want that aggregate stuff as it hurts my feet. I have no idea what kind of sand he used, I'll have to ask if I can ever get a hold of him again.

    pool decking

Another question for all you pool experts. Our new pool has the paver stones for decking. Between the stones is sand. Now, whenever it rains or is windy, the sand blows into the pool and leaves gaps between the stones. Is there anything I can do to either seal in the sand or use another...

    Pool Temp too hot!

This is what I bought and installed one on the back side of the pool, next to the waterfall. http://www.mistcooling.com/poolcooler.htm I'm concerned that I have to plug 2 other inlets to get enough water pressure to get the mister to work fully. I wanted to add another one and just make my own...

    Pool Temp too hot!

There is a fountain on the tanning ledge and I run the waterfall and fountain during the day. I bought a mistcooler that is basically pvc pipe that attaches to an inlet and it has small holes drilled in it. I ran this over night and the temp went down maybe 5 degrees. Then, full sun the next...

    Pool Temp too hot!

Yes, I'm usually so cold natured, I bought a heater for the pool, thinking, I can't stand cold water. But, it's way too hot, I guess I should've bought a cooler instead of a heater. I'm thinking it's the dark plaster that's causing it, but we didn't ask for dark plaster, our builder just...

    Pool Temp too hot!

So, how do I get the temp down? I'm in TX, with dark plaster and a small IG play pool that is 5 ft at it's deepest. For the past 3 or so weeks, the water's been 92 degrees, and it's just too darn hot! It's a new pool with little foliage for shade. I bought this mistcooler thingy online, but...

    Should I hire someone else?

Sorry, my sig line is old....early on, they told me they were waiting for permits, when in reality, we found out later that they were waiting for the electrician to get registered with our town and this took 6 weeks. I asked them about getting someone else and he told me how great the...

    Should I hire someone else?

Ok, so it's been 5 months since I signed a contract with a pool builder. We have a concrete hole in the ground, and that's about it. I keep getting more stories and more delays. They said it would take 4-6 weeks to build the pool. It's been 5 whole months! What gives? Should I fire them...

    Pool Safety

Hey, I'm new here and soon to be a new pool owner. I'm so excited, but also concerned about safety as I have a 4 year old son. What's best, the safety net or the safety fence around the pool? We have a 6 ft. wood fence around the yard, but I was thinking about an aluminum or steel type fence...
