    Ph issues

I do not use any other chemicals other than hypochlorite, soda ash, baking soda and stuff to raise the CYA. I live in Kings Mountain,NC and use well water. My R-0004 is out of date (2018). I am using soda ash from a different pool place. I don’t know if I bought a different kind if that would help?

I’m having problems with PH And cannot get it to come up. On my Taylor test kit it stays at the bottom of the color chart what looks like to me a 7 or lower. Last summer I replaced the sand in my filter. After studying my issue every time I put soda ash in the pool it gets caught in the filter...

    CYA problems I need advice

I'm having problems with my CYA in my pool. I thought I had figured it out last year reading your posts. At the end of the season when I closed my pool I drained it way down. Over e course of the winter (we had which was a rainy season) I drained it 2 more times. When I opened it up the CYA was...

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I thought about putting a pump at the bottom of the deep end and putting a hose at the shallow end to just bleed and feed. Will that work?

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I'm not sure of the type. I purchased it at Sams. Thursday when I tested it with the new test kit the CYA was at 200. It was already high because the test strip I was using tested it at 100. That was all it registered. I haven't added anything since Thursday. The PH is good. It was reading a 7.4.

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I ended up adding 40 lbs of shock to finally clear the algae (10 lbs a day for 4 days). I new the CYA was high from my test strips I was using at the time. So while shocking I ordered the Taylor K-2006 and waited for it to arrive so I could get an accurate reading.

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I used 2 scoops of the 0870 and 100 drops of 0871 before stopping. It was still dark red. There is a lot of chlorine in it.

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

It's probably real high. I had trouble with algae not wanting to clear so I socked it to it. My CYA was at 200 so I had to go high. Now my pool is clear so I am going to try to bleed and feed with fresh water to get my CYA down. This is what I get for listening to the pool store.

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I wonder if the reagents labels are wrong because I double checked and I am using the correct reagents. I even had my wife look at it. The R-0870 powder just 2 scoops and the R-0871 drops. When I put the R-0871 drops in it the more I put in it the more red it becomes. Should i try to return the...

    Problems with the Taylor K-2006

I purchased a Taylor K-2006 pool testing kit and I'm having problems with testing the free chlorine. I add the DPD powder to turn the pool water pink and then when I add theFAS-DPD titrating reagent is supposed to turn it clear. When I do this it makes it a dark red. I'm following the directions...

    Cloudy pool cannot clear up.

I will try to follow the CYA to chlorine chart so the cloudiness will go away. From the info of the chart it looks like I need the chlorine level to be around 8 or 9. Is that safe to swim? How long will it take for the CYA to get to normal level?

    Cloudy pool cannot clear up.

I opened up my pool around the first of may and I can't seem to get it clear. I have had 2 different algae break outs. I've shocked it and had to put in algaecide 2 different times to finally kill it. I have put 2 bottles of clarifier and it still does not clear. I'm testing daily and my last...
