    Sparkling Water All the Time?

Is it possible? Sure, a certain amount of stuff from wind, off trees, rain etc. are going to enter the pool. I keep my numbers in check daily. Is it better to run FC on the higher end? My water is slightly cloudy, not crystal. FC 6 PH 7.2 CYA 40 TA 40 ( a little low)

    Convenience vs Liquid Chlorine

Added 7.1 oz puck of Trichloro to bump up FC at noon today. Just checked FC to see if the number had moved. No difference in 7 hrs. Next year just going with immediate water infiltration liquid chlorine. Wonder what the percentage is for owners who use pucks/powder vs liquid? FC 6 Ph 7.2 TA...

    And now ... THIS!

I had a moderate algae issue a week ago due mainly to neglect. SLAM'd it right and stayed with it ... and now I have this.

    FC one day loss

Completed a SLAM yesterday morning with no loss in the OCLT and no CC's. Since FC was at SLAM level early yesterday morning I didn't check it again until just now and it was at 9ppm after two days of bright sun on the pool. My question is should I be seeing this much FC loss after finishing...

    Question about SLAM

I'm familiar with the SLAM process, but when the toggle is in the SLAM mode it should give me an amount of chlorine to add to achieve the SLAM target.

    Question about SLAM

I would like the calculator show me how much to add to reach SLAM target. The target is correct for my CYA level.

    Question about SLAM

Help me understand why the calculator says the target is out of range given the CYA number indicates it?

Could an admin PLEASE place the charts where they can be easily accessed? The links in forum threads don't link directly to them. Would really be a big, big help for a lot of folks here.

    Air Bubbles in Return

I've checked seal at pump trap and released some air at filter pressure guage. Bubbles come from the 2 of 4 returns closest to pump equipment. Should I leave the air release open till only water is spurting? Hope it isn't sucking air from underground plumbing? Thanks for your input.

    Cloudy return water

After backwashing and rinsing, I notice cloudy water coming from the returns and then slowly clears. Problem is it clouds otherwise sparkling clear water. It's a sand filter and medium was changed last season. Your diagnosis? Thanks!

    Combined Chlorine

The water is really cloudy with all the dead algae in there. I'm letting the sand filter pressure get a little higher than normal op so as to help trap finer particles. Getting a verrry late start this year and it was kelly green!

    Combined Chlorine

I'm slamming to clear pool. Have been slowly decreasing added amounts of 10% sodium hypo based on the TFP calculator. I have 2 ppm CC and the "smell". Ph is 7.6, CYA 40, 30,000 IG vinyl. Will this ordor eventually clear. Shocking I thought was supposed to break locked chlorine. No?

    Vinyl liner Pool brush

Wall Whale is worth it. The "tail" by design forces pressure down on the brush. Really helps on walls. When the pool has been recently brushed and small areas collect, I prefer the brush for concrete pools with the wheels. The wheels allow about a half inch clearance off the floor which makes...

ALWAYS check CYA at start up

This year I didn't and got myself into a real mess. Last season I went off the reservation and used Tri-Chlor pucks because I was lazy. Over the season the CYA built up and didn't completely diminish over the winter. This year, assuming there was no CYA in the water, I added enough to bring...
