    How to fix these chips?

Hi pool nerds! This chunk (in my hand) came out of my grout, and that made me notice the larger chunk above it that is out. Without redoing our whole pool, what product(s) should I use to patch these spots? This is a fairly isolated issue, so I'm thinking patching would be fine? I am only a...

    Solar Cover/Chlorine Recommendation, FC consistency

It was all within 5 minutes. I wasn't holding the bottle vertical. I will do another OCLT tonight. My morning readings were 7/8.5/7 so I either passed or failed last night! (At least I didn't REALLY OBVIOUSLY fail ha)

    Solar Cover/Chlorine Recommendation, FC consistency

FAs-DPD I think! It's the one TFP recommends with 10 mL that turn pink and then you count drops

    Solar Cover/Chlorine Recommendation, FC consistency

Hi friends, The solar cover we bought says to keep a MAX chlorine of 3 PPM. Lol. Do we just ignore that? My CYA is 50. Do all covers generally recommend something similar? Also, I took three Chlorine samples and got different results. (7/9/10) I hadn't added chlorine since yesterday. What's...

So I mix before measuring? No need to measure anything or add chemicals today?

    Let's GOOOO

Oh also I just went to Walmart to buy the most recent chlorinating liquid in person and am feeling very pleased with myself. The oldest was from December, which might have been OK? But I found 13 gallons from the end of Jan.

    Let's GOOOO

I found TFP near the end of last year. I'm SO excited to open today and implement all I have learned. I'm having the equipment professionally opened today, but they are not touching my chemicals. I switched companies to one that doesn't monkey with that side of things. We're opening a little...

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

@Bperry I see you're in Knoxville. Do you wait until November to close? Right now we have a closing date of 10/30 w a guy coming to help cover the pool and blow the lines.

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

Ok so my pool looks fine after my 5 day trip, still very clear, just leaves to rake up. My family did not add chlorine except for one day...oh well. Chlorine was at 24 for the slam, and it has drifted to 10. I wanted to go back to the "is my SLAM done" question, specifically about "dirt" on the...

If anyone cares to give feedback, here are my last few days. I was waiting for a chlorine shipment on 9/9 hence the falling levels.

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

5 ppm per day will be good, although possibly a little more than needed. I will order more liquid chlorine. I might ask my dad to pour in 1 gal chlorine per day and brush. I'll have my daughter or so report the daily chlorine level. Add an extra gallon if needed. (5 ppm per day is 2 gallons as...

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

Ok so my SLAM is still going, don't see any algae etc but here's my dilemma: I'm leaving town tomorrow for 5 days. My parents will be at my house. I hadnt obviously thought this through. I'm considering raising my pool to "mustard SLAM" levels until I leave and then let it fall while they are...

My 9 YO son asked me today if I put blue food coloring in the pool. 😆 I thought y'all would appreciate the compliment.

This is not the worst it was on top, but look at the bottom! It's getting there. 🙌 Still days left on the slam I'm sure.

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

In case anyone cares, overnight the FC fell from 24 to 20.5. I was excited! Maybe a little difference in the cloudiness. I brushed, topped up chlorine, etc. my husband doesn't really trust this method yet so it was good to see a little progress to point to.

Y'all, my pool is still so yellow and the FC is barely falling. Is anything happening? It has been around 24 hrs.

Waiting anxiously for my test kit...but why so cloudy

I just tested and the water only fell to 26 ppm (still above SLAM levels), dropping just 1 ppm from 7 AM to 11:40. I feel like my algae is so resistant! And thanks for the advice about the vacuum. I'll get it running.
