I appreciate the info. How long can the pool be drained before the plaster (quartz) dries out?

    Loose inground pool coping

They are for the most part, I think 1/2 of one is chipped off near the skimmer but other than that fine. So a good mason is the one to call vs a pool expert? Should I be concerned about the lack of mastic between coping and pool deck? Also, from inside the pool where the tile meets the underside...

    Loose inground pool coping

NJ, travertine coping has some pieces broke off and almost all are hollow. 12 years old, I don't believe mastic was used between deck, also travertine, and travertine coping. Can this be repaired without replacing tile line? Any rec's for someone good in NJ, Ocean County. Willing to move on from...

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

I think I will replace the display part ($46-$85) which comes with a new seal and takes 5 min to install based on some reviews. I'll wait to see what happens when I fire it up in the Spring then proceed accordingly. The display looks faded as heck anyway but rigging some sort of cover for the...

I also heard that it may in fact cause condensation actually making the situation you are trying to avoid worse. Who the heck knows...Darn if you do, Darn if you don't. I never thought about accidental turn ons though

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

Based on the feedback that it won't be worth it to repair I doubt it. Might be a sabotage job with zero recourse. I will ask though. I also just thought of something. I went away the day prior to closing the pool and unplugged my remote (Hayward PS8 loc inside house) which I usually do not do...

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

I have changed a couple of sensors on the heater and a board on my Hayward Control module but I am no expert on these things. Is it true that there are 3 different boards?

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

update: The tech said there is a CE code on the heater which means all 3 boards need replacement. Since the heater is 10+ yrs old, he said it's not worth repairing. The interesting thing is I used it a bit with the spa, not a lot but it worked fine and I either didn't notice the code or...

I was thinking the 250 but I'll see what the tech says regarding my existing. I have to assume during closing he saw something with the heater.

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

Thanks for the input, I put a call out to the company and they said they'll talk to tech who made the note and get back to me. The tech has always been a straight shooter with me but I'll see what he says.

Pool guy says I need a new pool heater, Hayward H400FDN

Here's the story. 12 year old heater, Hayward 400,000 gas. Works ok but he says it's bad, and needs replacing. Whatever, my question is this? I NEVER heat my pool, frankly, it gets very little use as my kids are grown, and they prefer the beach. My pool has an attached 500 gal spa that I do use...

repair or replace Hayward PS8 prologic

I just installed it myself,(new board) fairly straightforward. Seems ok so far, just waiting to see if time holds current, pump comes on and off as scheduled, and cleaner does the same. Thanks for the advice and saving me the $$$ for elevated board price plus install.

replace/repair travertine coping and most likely waterline tile. loose, hollow, breaking off

Suggestions on companies for repair/replacement in Central/S Jersey...specifically Ocean County. I have travertine coping that is becoming loose and several have cracked and broken off. I suspect water intrusion from no mastic being used between pool deck and coping. I had a couple people come...

repair or replace Hayward PS8 prologic

My automation isn't keeping time, a new board is about $1k . It is 11 years old, should I bite the bullet and get a new one installed? All Hayward equipment. What is the going rate on a new Hayward Automation setup? Opinions welcomed.
