    SLAM After Pool Remodel?

    Just providing an update…SLAM completed today. Have to admit I thought that I was doing something wrong with having absolutely clear water and chlorine was being used so quickly. Will now wait for chlorine to drop to normal levels and then take a look at ph and alkalinity.

    I am getting a large difference in my ph tests. My comparator block with the phenol red shows 7.5 and my ph meter reads 7.9. I took some to the local pool store today to just get another test to compare and they got 7.9. They also had two other test results that differed from mine...

    Background…had to do a pool remodel. New equipment, added some features, got a new mini-pebble surface. The PB handled the startup and handed it over to us after 2.5 weeks. There were no instructions other than it’s ok to resume normal service. There was no chlorine added during that time so...

    About to be first time pool owner here. Should be getting the keys to the new place in the next two weeks. I’ve been scouring this site, Swim University, and SwimmingPoolSteve to try and get the basics down. Wish us luck and I’m sure I’ll be posting soon as we start to move in.
