Heated pool to 83 and jumped in. Scrubbed around main drain cover with toothbrush as I vacuumed it last night. All good to go! Happy swims everyone!

    Filter PSI keeps dropping

What do you mean rubber-ish? If it's on the skimmer line it should be a schedule 40 PVC pipe. If not, then what would it be? The fact it's only 3" below surface also seems wrong as well as it should be below frost line unless you don't have frost but should still be buried further down than that.

    Skimmer Clogged Again

You can guy a snake fairly cheap. I bought one from a store at 75 foot and used it and it worked like a charm. They are handy for your home as well and would save on a plumber or in your case a pool business. Just my 2 cents

    Multi port cracked

Hey everyone, my multi port Hayward valve cracked. I was lucky enough to have kept my old one and re pieced it all together. Also was smart enough to keep a spare spider gasket on hand. This is why have I keep spare parts on hand when you are no where near a Pool store that carries these things...

I also thought I would put up a picture of what that one return line looked like before we were able to cut out the metal bushings that the idiots before us had screwed into the wall. Totally messed up mess for rust. The pool guy I have and I were able to cut it out working together and save...

Gathering Ideas to replace Coping & Liner - Upgrade to pool

Last thing now on the list is to repaint the whole patio with my nonskid paint and she will look like a million bucks. I am now contemplating re-doing my firepit area to include pavers or something so that people can enjoy the firepit in the evenings while swimming. That may come over the...

Gathering Ideas to replace Coping & Liner - Upgrade to pool

Here are the final results. No virmiculite needed once we cleaned up the horrible trowel work that previous owners did and really the water is now sparkly clean. Turned out much better than anticipated which will hopefully result in some cost savings for sure. Enjoy the pics.

Gathering Ideas to replace Coping & Liner - Upgrade to pool

I have also read on here about various ideas and well points to take water pressure off the pool. I already have that with my sump pump in my house which is right next to the pool. The old liner was in for 15 years and had no issues at all with water behind the liner or such so I know the...

Gathering Ideas to replace Coping & Liner - Upgrade to pool

Pool project began. Tore out the old liner which was just shot. What we found underneath was not as bad as I first thought. The trowel job that they did for the vermiculite was bad. Some cracks and water is seeping which will not stop as that is just the way it has been here. The pool is 40...

Gathering Ideas to replace Coping & Liner - Upgrade to pool

Getting closer to finally starting my liner replacement and a few other home remodel projects. One of those is replacing the patio by the house and Pool. That way the concrete drains away from the home. Since we purchased it in 2007, this has really bothered me so now we can fix it so when it...

    New Build CT

I would french drain the whole back yard if possible so that the water heads toward like the street if at all possible. If not, a pump is possible in a basin with the plumbing headed to the street too. I have seen both work extremely well but if you do it; then now would be the time for sure...
