    Removing built in spa

But seriously now…can I just fill it up with cement and remove plumbing? Will 3 returns be enough for the pool? How would you approach this ‘project’?

    Removing built in spa

We were considering removing the wall, but trying to keep our cost down and just fill it up. My wife wants to remove spa (because of space) . They say happy wife happy life

    Removing built in spa

    RJ60+ issues

I forgot to mention that Discount Salt Pool instructed me to clean it again :/ I was following their instructions using 1 part acid 4 parts water. What can be used instead of acid? You are correct...20%, typo. I wonder why I'm having these issues two springs in a row. Tech on the phone didn't...

    RJ60+ issues

Hello I purchased my SWG in July 2023. It ran with no problems till I turned it off for a winter. In March 2024, I wanted to start up the system, but it was reading low salt (even with a water temperature of 70°F and a salt level of 3800 ppm). Cleaned up the cell multiple times with no luck. I...

    Drain plug

Only during the winter if I lower the water level below the skimmer level to have some cushion during the rainy month. Not a big deal even if I have pump off for that month, I was just wondering why is there and not working:)

    Drain plug

Tried that l, doesn’t suck anything:( As said one hole in skimmer is plugged from the bottom so I’m wondering where is/was the pool main drain plumbed to? Looks like I’ll have to find a pool company to figure this out or just leave as is:)

    Drain plug

Soo…. Jim you are correct. The front valve suck from the pool or just from the hot tub bottom drain. On the front valve I closed the hot tub. Pump was sucking water from a skimmer. I dived to the bottom drain in the pool and checked again. No suction, drain pipe is open and not plugged, no water...

    Drain plug

In skimmer basket only one hole is open. Second one is plugged. I will test main drain suction agin and report findings. I think it should work, it’s on a deep end of the pool 9ft and I think when I tested year ago it did has suction. … If I close skimmer and return to pool, pump is working...

    Drain plug

Jim,yes I’m sure…. Everything about this pool is odd lol. One valve control both drains and skimmer and one valve control returns to the hot tub and main pool. No heater. Looks like there used to be a gas heater years ago. They removed it and re-did things. Now I have only a solar heater for...

    Drain plug

40y old pool…My main drain and aka hot tub drain are connected to the same line so I can’t control them separately. There is a spill over from hot tub to the pool and we are not using hot tub at all. Can I plug hot tub drains? Wondering what will that do to the pipes?

    SWG's are awesome!

Agree SWG is the best. We were out of the country for 3 weeks. No one took care of the pool and came back to a clear water, no algae. Only thing is PH went to 8.2 and TA to 80….I had white flakes in….well I’m still trying to figure out that (have a separate topic on it) Also solar Beta pool...

Lowe's Storing their Liquid Chlorine Outdoors in Garden Center

When I was using chlorine I got it at Walmart. You can find it on a shelf, it’s also cheaper than in HD/Lowes. As far as heat goes…never had a problem with it.

    White flakes

Yeah test strips…was looking at my Tayler kit when was typing msg and automatically typed kit lol

    White flakes

ManiacalMama I’m leaning towards it yes, have to order a kit first. Will let you guys know the final result.

    White flakes

Liquid chlorine. I had PH always around 7.8-7.9 PH but didn’t see it as a ‘problem’ till I installed SWG.

    White flakes

Bummer…. So to offset this at least a little bit my best bet would be to do what? it will be pita adding acid every 2 days, especially if I’m gone for vacation or business trip.

    White flakes

Aeration from spa overflow or swg? I can try to set valves to eliminate overflow. It’s really a small one Btw tested fill water Ph 7.0 Ta 150 Ch not ‘measurable’ i have a water softener
  23. Sn00py

    White flakes

only solar pool heating that’s connected directly to a VS pump

    White flakes

3 people tested PH with same results just in case
  25. Sn00py

    White flakes

None:/ just a small overflow from spa (2 in high, and 10 in wide)

PH went up to 7.7 from 7.4 in 24 h huh

    White flakes

PH 7.4 TA 70 Temp 87 CSI -0.44 Ok, will monitor for few days and then try with BOR if it will go up to quick. Thanks again for all the help!

    White flakes

If it will rise to quick should I try borates to ‘stabilize’ it or maybe run SWG on higher setting for less hours first (less bubbles)?

    White flakes

Ok just tested water with my friend (4.30PM) and PH 8.0 TA 80 ( went up?? ) CH 300 CyA 60 Pool temp 87 CSI 0.18 Will bring PH down. SWG is showing water temp 94 which brings CSI to 0.24

    White flakes

The only thing that might be off is the PH. As I said...those color shades are difficult to read for me. So I might have higher PH than I reported here. Will have to ask a friend to double-check, my wife is color-blind too lol I did only 25 ml samples because of a new SWG install and wanted to...
