i've had better days with my pool..

first, it appears my autopilot power supply may have crapped out yesterday..i still have green lights, no scale, salts good but no chlorine output. then today, i turned off valves and filter for some reason..and forgot about it while i made supper and started watching tv..decided to go outside...

    AutoPilot SC-60 low chlorine output?

i read on another post here re: problems with lack of chlorine and an autopilot sean's comment about potentially a blown cell fuse..the question i have is if the cell fuse was blown, would this then show up as a fault. i have the autopilot soft touch that gives the led lights if errors. sorry if...

    Christmas in July???

ps- is that the new filter in the picture which would explain my appearance comment..but then, i would be wondering why you're asking if you've already bought the stuff:)

    Christmas in July???

any particular reason you're replacing the filter? from an appearance standpoint, it looks great. mine is 27 years old, took it apart last year and laterals are in excellent shape, casing, valve is in great shape. i took out the sand to remove and inspect the laterals and loaded it with zeobrite...

need new pump-1.5"pipe,2"pump? -update: Whisperflo installed

i have a 3/4 uprated to 1hp pump now ..my prior pump was a 1/2 hp uprated to 3/4 and it had the 1.5 inch outs and ins...i'm about 30 ft and 70 ft from where my piping goes to returns for reference..and i have a fair amount of 45 and 90 degree bends in my system....and i think the 1/2 hp would...

The Solar Blanket / Cover Debate; which Color ?

i wish mine was a 12mm bought at intheswim.com. your basic dark blue cover and it works great.

The Solar Blanket / Cover Debate; which Color ?

i agree with waterbear. at the price of a medium weight cover, i could buy one every year if i need to. i'm in my second season with a medium weight and it is standing up well to the wear and tear. when it's off the pool, it goes in shade so i don't pop any bubbles. last winter was the test as...

Anybody not bother with a solar blanket?

yep, you're right on that. i have in my records this from one of the their customer service reps: Thank you for your inquiry. In The Swim does not charge any additional fees for orders shipped to Canada, except for shipments sent by truck (slides, heaters, etc). In the case of a truck...

Anybody not bother with a solar blanket?

lol..i just realized..you're probably wondering what the heck is he talking about re: ropes...i'll show you a link to a similar thread at the poolforum.com. i'm responding to 2 similar threads re: covers . i posted pics of the slickest cheapest solution to pull a cover onto a pool that i came up...

Anybody not bother with a solar blanket?

heck, my little 10 year old son , all 4.5 ft and change of him and about 80 lb loves to pull it on himself. easy as pie to be honest:) it rolls very easy and smoothly off the reel. i just had to teach him how to pull both ropes taut together so it comes off even..i actually could have knotted...

Anybody not bother with a solar blanket?

hey, hay:) i'm in alberta and i paid about 300 for my cover, reel and shipping from intheswim.com in the us including casters and duties (they ship fedex). otherwise, i would have ended up paying about 800 locally as well. why i use a cover: -slow down water evaporation, help maintain chlorine...

    Removing ladders

hmmm..mine has some bolts that go into the ground under plastic flanges..i wonder if they do the same thing..dohhhh..doesn't really matter as i used a solar cover so i don't have the ladder in ever:)

    Removing ladders

yeah, the wiggling is a pain, not easy and you want make sure if it has endcaps on the pool end tubes, one doesn't come off and scrape your liner if you have vinyl..my daughter had a goof ball buddy play with ours last year and ripped a 4 inch cut in my vinyl liner..i'm past it now and managed...

    Removing ladders

i'm assuming it's a conventional type ladder with the ends top that curl back behind the ladder and it anchors into a pool deck. if so, mine is a concrete deck that the ends go into. to remove it, i always have to wiggle it side to side as i pull up on the sides. i haven't tried it, but i...

    Pool Pilot Output Settings

have you checked your cell voltage and current diagnostics to see if it's actually putting out what it should be? i get your point about twice the size. i have an 11,000 gallon pool so i use the 36 cell rated for 20,000 gallons. mine has had about 2 months use as i installed it very late last...

    Pool Pilot Output Settings

you could go 3 and give it more range, but...how old is your pool pilot? i wouldn't think you should need to go that high for your pool size unless the cell was wearing out. that's my first thought..second, the cya level of 40 seems very low..the pool pilot recommendation is like 70 ppm so...

    something a little different fyi

while i'm thrilled with my pool, i didn't put it in. my personal pride is the pool shed i added 2 years ago and the layout and upgrades i did last year..put a lot of time and money into making it a "troublefree pool" experience! so, hope you don't mind if i post some shots: 2nd of 2 poolsheds...

    White flakes and foam

sean, remember i had some problems some like at the start of season and questioned you on it..at first, i thought it had to do with the temperature of pool (still possible) but since it cleared up, i've had pretty cold water at times (60 versus 55 and no problem) so, my theory is it could have...
