    Test kit subjectivity

I have had a Lamotte ColorQ Pro 9 Plus and a TF100 for 3 years. I test with the TF-100 weekly and the ColorQ every few weeks. Here are some of differences I have noticed. FC - ColorQ always has a much lower value (ex. 5.0 on TF100 and 1.13 on ColorQ. I know what FC was yesterday plus...

What colour steps? White or coloured?

Ours are white. The blue looks nice, I just have to wonder if the sun will fade the blue steps over the years.

Re: This had to be brought up before but I can't it: Is ther You are not the only one with this problem. I cleaned mine, lubed the o-ring in March at opening. A few days later I needed to open again to clean. No can do. Husband finally got it loosened.

Aqua Chem Scale, Metal, & Stain Control

I bought several bottles last year. My stains began to reappear even with keeping Ph 7.2-7.4 with the Aqua Chem. I returned my unopened bottles & went back to the Purple Stuff. My AA treatment this past weekend went well & am using Purple Stuff. I used 1.75lbs AA. I wanted the Aqua Chem to work...

    AA Treatment After Opening?

This will be my first AA treatment. Your results look amazing. My liner is starting its 14th year. The staining is a very light dusting but it drives me crazy. I'm mainly trying to get the stains out of the steps since I guess they are permanent. How well do you think they will clean up & do you...

Help me choose a correct pool heater...not sure of pool size

Re: Help me choose a correct pool heater...not sure of pool Wow! - This IS our pool. It is a 17 x 33 Oblique, Pacific Liner. Linen is correct as ours is 16,000 bottom of skimmer, closer to 17,000 at the top which is where we keep our water level. We have a Hayward Natural Gas heater (250)...

    Water exercises?

I use Aqua Jogger & pool noodles for exercise when the pool is open. I feel so much better when I exercise regularly and I dislike going to gyms so the pool is it!

From Vinyl to pebble tech ?? Possible??

We do have a heater but it is still bypassed & drained. Until we get out of this freezing 50-60 degree weather there is no use to run the heater. We do have a solar cover but I'm afraid this cold weather will make it brittle. Where is our hot weather??

From Vinyl to pebble tech ?? Possible??

Last fall I called a large pool installer in Charlotte and posed this same question. Our liner is living on borrowed time, the shallow end getting the worse of the wear. Blame it on that basketball goal. I was thinking maybe get rid of the liner replace it with a hard surface. They did not want...

    IG Pool Safety Covers

I have lots of trees & must use a solid safety cover. The mesh I am told would allow my pool to turn green before I open in March.

    Dark liners

I'm a season or two from needing a new liner. Current liner is light. I also wonder if you can see blue vs green easily. Or most important, can you see creatures on the bottom?

    Slide decision

I have an Interfab Whitewater slide, 13-1/2 yrs old. I like deep slides as small children cannot lean over the edge & fall out. The BYOS 2 is deeper than mine so no problem there. We have had to patch ours twice. Patch #1 is at the top of the slide where the ride starts. Kids/adults get to the...

    New Pool in NC...

I have had that same brown deck box from Sam's for a few years. It stays outside & still looks new. We went with the fiber optic light(2) in our pool. We can never just run the color-wheel because it lights up the pool algae green. I can't stand my pool to glow green, if only for a few seconds...

Re: Will FC levels of 6-8 fade liner? Pool store experience For 12 years I have maintained a CYA of 75-80 and a FC of 6-8. My liner looks great. I have only slight fading on a section of border that is in full sun.

    Taking the Plunge! in Maryland

That is a beautiful pool! I do agree with msumoose, I wish our pump wasn't in our main area. At least it is a variable speed & can be turned down during tv watching. Enjoy your pool.

    Rock under liner

We also have a 'rock' in the deep end on the lower end of the slanted wall. I believe it is a piece of the perlite that has chipped off. This is going to take about an 8" round patch. I am getting more concerned about what happens to th perite base when we finally replace this liner. Do they get...

    Raleigh North Carolina area?

I am located in Newton NC. I close my pool only because of massive amounts of leaves. It does not get cold enough here to cause any freezing problems. It may not be warm enough to swim in the winter but our temps are still too warm to keep our pool closed all winter.

Re: Dead bird in the skimmer - time to shock I'm with samiguy, if shocked every time I had dead critters, I would shock everyday. If you are having company soon, empty the smelly skimmer on the other side of your property.
