Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

I am watching the gauge. It has increased some (from 10 to 20 psi) and my flow has decreased some. I am clearly still in the slam process. I bought new cartridges probably slightly before they are needed as pressure does return to normal/clean after cleaning but I noticed a bit of fraying...

Well i thought i read everything. there is a lot of info. I just ordered one of those recommended test kits. I will get liquid chlorine this afternoon. I have been putting in granular the last two days. I ordered new filters - should i replace those now or clean the old ones again and then...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

I have had the worst yellow algae problems (for over a year we have battled it) What do you recommend? We cleaned the filters and everything else and brushed and brushed - and this time used yellow out and then started the 2 lbs of shock every 12 hours. We just finished that but I still see some...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

I'm also in the midst of fighting yellow algae and doing a supershock right now.... I was concerned of bit of algae stuck in the old polaris so I was thinking i needed to replace that sooner than later. But you know "when you give a mouse a cookie..." if you get that reference... so I wasn't...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

Ha! Pools are money pits!! I have a new jandy filter and a fairly newish jandy heater... we are currently not running the SWG (but I'd like to start it back up... soonish) We need to replace the old controller - and when we do that we will have to replace the old pump (which has had several...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

We are wanting to replace that jandy aqualink. We remodeled the pool (coping/plaster(mini pebble)/tile) about 1 1/2 years ago and replaced the filter with a jandy 580 since it was cracking - but didn't have enough $ to replace other equipment at that time. We disconnected the salt system for a...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

Trying to understand! Is this red circled filter the "energy filter" you are referring to? There is also a small/tiny filter inside the hose that attaches to the wall... we have to clean that and the larger clear one (red cricle) by the pool equipment all the time. So how can we send the water...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

The circled valve is the one that used to be an actuator and is now manual. It controls the pressure to where the polaris attaches to the side. We are hoping to replace our old jandy aqualinks this year and maybe we can program things better then...we will consider any other changes needed as...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

the system was set up for the polaris to run basically all the time. I don't even think i used to be able to program that. If i didn't want it to run i just would unplug it from the wall and take it out of the pool... But now that the actuator is just a manual valve I can turn it off.

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

Also- we get sooooooo many leaves and debris as we back to a creek. I use the Polaris leaf bag in the fall and still have to empty hourly - and scoop a lot!!

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

So the rebel is a suction cleaner and the Polaris 360 or 380 (or 280) are pressure cleaners? And the 280 and 380 require booster pumps? I think i’m learning!! Ty!

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

That’s a good question…I think we have had some pool people tell us we could install a booster pump in the past if we wanted? So maybe? The Polaris 360 has a side jet it it plugs into. The valve that controls that pressure is now manual but used to be an actuator. That valve is close to the...

Advice on replacing polaris 360 or installing booster bump for 380 or some other cleaner?

Our old polaris 360 is nearing its end (has been rebuilt many times and is duct taped together right now!). We do NOT have a booster pump. We back to a creek and get a TREMENDOUS amount of leaves and debris. We must have the valves tweaked just right between the beach jets, spa overflow, etc...

residual plaster dust in cartridge filter 6 months after remodel?

The pool has been clear but the store testing of phosphates was so very high i did treat it... I will look into getting one of those testing kits. I am a little confused on how to test what the gunk was that was in the cartridges. We did also replace the cartridge filter when we did the remodel...

I take the water sample to leslies to test for phosphates. i also do a home test kit for other things but those don't test for phosphates. We back to a forest of trees and have a lot of leaves/blossoms, etc year round. I take the water sample to leslies to test for phosphates. i also do a home...

residual plaster dust in cartridge filter 6 months after remodel?

We remodeled our pool in late September with mini pebble. Looks great and the water is clear. We have cleaned the filter three times since the remodel. The last cleaning was just last week and the cartridge filters are still full of plaster. Is this normal? When will it end?! We have been very...

Just remodeled and new spillover “dripping”

That’s my system thank you! Not sure I understood all that but remodel guy agreed to make a notch under the travertine ledge to help. I asked him about bypassing the spa and continuing with filter pump and he said it’s best to keep the water flowing through the spa - which does make some sense...
