    High TA during slam

And by still at 60 I meant it is still higher than I wanted it to be. It was off the charts before I replaced the water.

Ok— I will wait and look at everything once I’m done woth FC. Unfortunately, even after replacing all that water, my CYA is still at 60. Thank you!

    High TA during slam

so I allowed my poor chemistry to get completely out of whack for like two weeks. Now I am trying to fix my mistake. My CYA super high so I replaced about 60% of my pool water (and I’m kind of confused as to how that happened. I do use the pucks when I’m on vacation but the rest of the time I...

and I don’t know if you can see it in the photo, but our new concrete ties perfectly into the old concrete pad it is next to. Very proud of myself for that. I really did think getting the correct elevation was the hardest part.

To update my own thread. Before winter we backfilled then we quit. In January we uncovered the pool and started work again. We poured two very nice sidewalks with stairs in February. And just today we finally poured the deck. I have gotten three fence quotes and made a deal with one installer...

    Auto Pool Cover--looking for opinions/options

Last summer we put in a grecian in ground pool (husband and I did it ourselves) but we quit before we poured the concrete deck--we wanted to let all the backfill settle--and honestly we were just tired of construction at that point. So now I am revisiting an auto cover. We cannot put in an...

    Safety cover but no deck

I have a safety cover for my pool but I’m not certain we are going to get the deck poured before winter. Anyway to use it (some clever way to anchor it) or do I need to buy something else?

As for the cost The pool kit (on ground kit--we weren't sure when we bought if we would put it the whole way in the ground or not--plus this kit was the size we wanted and had a 3 week lead time--the in ground kits were cheaper but had a 6-8 week lead time) $18,312 Excavation $5300 (several...

I bought the pool crete online from pro pools and they estimated I needed 55 bags and I then bought 64 bags (at their suggestion--to account for waste or small amounts of overdig). I only used 45 bags. (I did sell the remaining bags already but for half of what I paid for them)

And we had the pool Crete placed (bought way to much—guess that’s better than not enough) liner placed, plumbing finished and water delivered. Next we will have inspection on Tuesday and then we can work on some drainage and then start backfilling.

We have successfully poured the concrete ring around the pool—on the 3rd try—try one concrete truck broke down and #2 was cancelled for weather. Unfortunately the pool Crete was to be installed tomorrow but I’m pretty sure they are going to cancel—too much rain—the ground is too wet. We...

Honestly-this was the pool we could buy and actually get delivered this summer in the size/shape we liked. (We picked in on ground pool because the walls do not have to be backfilled the whole way and we did build it into a hillside.) We did assemble it with the skimmer so the wind blows into it.

(Badly drawn schematic in next post) For the plumbing--I cannot hire anyone to do it. So I plan to go to the plumbing store and buy the stuff and see what happens. My pool is grecian shaped with one skimmer and two returns. I will run a line from the skimmer to the pump, then from pump to...

Worked on the walls last night—hoping to finish today. I scheduled a concrete truck and concrete pump for Friday at 3 o’clock. Fingers crossed I don’t have to cancel on them. Our diagonals are almost perfect— A little more tweaking on those and then we need to put in the stairs. We are putting...

The excavator is finished and I feel he did an amazing job! We have one wall up that is plumb and level and it only took us about 2 hours. I am feeling good. But now the project halts for the week. I also got the name of a third pool installer who is going to give me a quote for the pool...

Today the guy who is going to install the gas line for my heater came to give me a quote. He gave me the name of his pool builder so I called him to see what he would say. This guy was so egotistical—I’m a crazy person thinking I can do this myself etc etc. anyway he quoted me $18,000 to...
