    Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup

You’re right on that. I’ve already removed the pipes from the wall ports. And I’ve been disconnected from the pump. https://www.troublefreepool.com/attachments/fullsizerender-jpeg.568846/ On the chance it was as easy as just unscrewing this contraption from the skimmer, I tried. It seems I did...

    Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup

Well, that’s what I wanted to hear and I’m thrilled. Though, I’m entirely unsure how to go about replacing the valve. As far as I knew, bonding the pvc pieces together was a rather permanent thing. Are you saying I should be able to somehow take the ball valve out and replace it? That would be...

    Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup

Last year, I posted 'Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup'. Turns out, much of the work done was unnecessary. All of the stuff connected to the pool’s original outlets was totally unnecessary and I kept that ball valve closed the whole season. Not a big deal, I’ve learned. In the end, all I really...

Turtles, Dogs, Tadpoles, Oh My 😮

Being totally honest, I have no clue what to do with the tadpoles. I’d be happy to rescue them and give them a kiddie pool. I’m honestly confused that they’re still alive.

Yes, poor poor pup. He’s gotta swim with the tadpoles. Well, after we get in there and clean up the pool

Turtles, Dogs, Tadpoles, Oh My 😮

It’s rained so much the pool is overflowing. There is a snapping turtle in the water next to the pool. Wiley wants to play with 🐢. He keeps laying in the mud. There’s tadpoles everywhere! Wiley needs a bath. Now I need a bath. I was hoping to get in and clean the pool today. I guess I have other...

Bestway (intex) reset button won't reset

Per the usual, no fix is ever as easy as the first thing you try. Currently, I still have the pool pump (now fitted with an inline gfci) plugged into the mechanical timer. The current setup works like this: If timer is on Provide power to pump’s gfci If gfci is working Power flows to pump...

Thankfully, I didn’t expect magic. This is the timer I got https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PW9Y7CP/

Oh! Good to know. Thank you. I spent all last year unsuccessful. I’ll give it a try this year. Im excited to see how much using a vacuum helps keep the pool clean. I also installed a skimmer though. So, I’ll likely be hooking up to that instead.

and success! This setup works. This is a grounded mechanical timer with a replacement UL listed inline GFCI Edit: this was not completely successful

    Leak from cemented PVC fitting?

It’s leaking from the blue threads that I ended up cementing together. The blue stuff is the cement in this Oatey pack

    Leak from cemented PVC fitting?

That’s not a horrible idea. I’ll give it some thought

Bestway (intex) reset button won't reset

Oh! We do pretty much have the same pool. Though, mine came with a cartridge filter pump. I’m hopeful that I have a fix. 🤞🏻 I agree on trying to keep things small and not annoying. There are quite a few timer options out there

    Leak from cemented PVC fitting?

I’m not super sure about the pressure side? The vertical pipe here is for the skimmer. Both it and the other pictured pipes feed into the pump to the left.

I just had the same issue as those in this post from years ago. I’m hoping I can workout my issue and share whatever I do to fix it. First, I know the pump is getting power because the timer lights were working. The test button does nothing. And neither does the reset. The pump isn’t running...

    Leak from cemented PVC fitting?

I put together all of my PVC and hoses. Found one leak that I have since fixed with an added gasket. And now I still have this leak. In the picture, you’ll see that I have an arrow pointed at this threaded fitting at the top of the tee. It absolutely refused to not leak, so I used the same PVC...

    Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup

Thankfully the water level was still below the inlets. So, there was no potato shaving required. That kinda sucks though. Dinner could’ve been half ready. I’m also happy to report the gluing wasn’t an issue here. The pipes that go in the inlets are held by hose clamps. We just pushed the pool...

    Prematurely Hardeneded Hose Setup

This year I had a wonderful idea that maybe I would swap out the hoses for PVC. Looks good, no? I mostly one of the shut off valves and the new skimmer replacing all the hoses added benefit. I did this while my ag pool had no water in it. Once I got everything watertight now everything else...

Who doesn’t want to jump in mud puddles?

The pool is just ag vinyl. It’s also only half set up. I was trying to clean it and smooth out the bottom. I promise I wasn’t going to fill it with the floor all messed up. Thanks for the shop vac idea. I forgot they can do wet stuff too
