    Replacement corner covers?

Oh boy, I don't even know. Came with the house. I'll have to see if it is written anywhere on the pool.

    Replacement corner covers?

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement corner covers? I have a number of broken and missing ones at this point.

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

Getting close to ending SLAM! My FC dropped maybe 0.5 overnight, and couldn't register any CC. Water is quite clear, but could be a bit better. Will probably keep this up with the pump running for a couple more days, then start to let the FC drift down. It seems like the deep clean of the...

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

Sounds good everyone! Yes, I am thinking I will do a second deep clean of the filter when I am off tomorrow. The water wasn't running totally clear the first time after about 30-45min, but I ran out of time. I think I am seeing some progress in the water clearing, but hard to judge. Will...

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

@pypeke I am checking the FC and adjusting 3 times a day. The odd thing is that I am not really getting an FC drop overnight, which is why I am focusing more on filtration now. I think the water is cloudy from all the dead algae that is just not getting cleared out. Also, pump has been...

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

Hmm, ok, sounds like I should do that. My pool is near a pine tree, so I probably have a ton of pine needles in there too. Did you replace the sand after the deep clean? FC stayed at 16 overnight, so it definitely seems like I have a filtration problem, rather than an algae, or other...

I have not yet. I will see what that entails, and see if I can find time to do that.

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

So pH is 7.0-7.2 now. FC was 10.5 this morning, so will add chlorine to get back up to 16 and brush. Then I guess it is just a SLAM waiting game. Attached are some pics from this morning. Can only see about halfway down still. I also backwashed the filter this morning. It was at 12psi, and...

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

Awesome, thanks everyone! Should have the pH straightened out today, then back to full SLAM. I have been brushing 2-3X per day. Starting to see slow improvements I think, just impatient.

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

How long after adding washing soda or muriatic acid do you need to wait to take a new pH measurement? I would think it would be pretty quick.

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

I am using the recommended FAS-DPD test kit. I will brush this morning, then let it drift down to adjust pH and TA, then hopefully get back up to shock level for overnight. I am just impatient with the sand filter, but I know it is slowly working....

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

Gotcha, I will step up the brushing. I am also working from home right now with two little kids, so finding the time is a bit hard. I have been backwashing the filter pretty much daily. It is usually about 9 psi clean, and has only gotten up to 11psi or so. Also, it is worth it to let the FC...

SLAMing for 5 days, but still can't even see the bottom

I have been following the methods outlined on here for the past 8 years with my pool. However, this year has been a challenge so far. We got a puppy at the end of last season, and he proceeded to completely destroy the cover over the winter/spring. So, there is probably a ton of organic debris...

    Help on selecting a SWG

I would be willing to have a slightly higher run time, just don't want it to be 24 hours.

    Help on selecting a SWG

I am considering buying a SWG, as I am tired of clearing the grocery store out of bleach, and lugging it around. It also would be nice to go on a vacation and not have to try and add more chlorine before I go away, and possibly come back to things being out of whack. My pool stats are in my...

Will cover damage pool if water too low

I must have a leak in my liner, and my cover is now on for the winter. There is maybe only 6" of water in the pool now. I am concerned that the weight of water and snow on the cover is going to be too much for the pool frame to handle. Thoughts? Should I just take the cover off and then fix...

    AGP first time closing

Cool, thanks for the comments. I have an old sump pump kicking around that I can use to pump the water off the cover. I will try and do that before the temperatures get down to freezing.

    AGP first time closing

I just wanted to post a picture of what my AGP looks like after closing it for the first time, just to make sure I am not missing anything major. The filter and pump are drained and stored away in the garage. I lowered the water level to 4-6" below the skimmer. Put air balloon in, and put cover...

Great thanks a lot. That link to the Taylor photos Jason posted was very helpful.

    Trouble testing CYA

Ok, I will give that a try. When they say the black dot should disappear they mean that the water should be opaque enough that I don't see it at all right?
