    Jandy Valve Actuator Needs a Nudge...

    The JVA has a run capacitor internal to the actuator. These parts overtime fail. I have had to replace them multiple times over the years. The symptoms of a failing capacitor vary from the actuator not moving to valve “pulsing” as it moves.

    To Drain, or not to Drain, THAT, is the Question!

    I watch the water level and drain the pool to keep the water off the tile in the winter. The pool needs to be drained again this week. The skimmers get vacuumed out, too! I use a siphon.

    Rust on Stainless Ring in DE Filter

    I would clean the thick rust with a stainless steel wire brush and then use Bar Keepers Friend to remove the surface rust. BKF contains oxalic acid which will passivate stainless steel. I would keep the BKF away from the plastic surface.
