Pool party (kids) pool went slightly cloudy by end of day?

Started a slam now but my water went a bit cloudy by end of day for todays pool party for my 6 year old. Is it somewhat normal for an all day splash to use enough to go bad that quickly? I had been maintaining fc at lower end of acceptable but added a few extra litres of chlorine in advance...

    Liquid chlorine tank - locating?

Hi, Looking to get set up for liquid chlorine dosing with a tank and stenner type pump. Would storage of chlorine be acceptable under my deck? The deck is enclosed on the sides and would generally be vented through the slots in the composite deck boards. it would be a few feet away from the...

Another pool store vs home testing thread

Arizona? Does it get to freezing? Put the pipes in your wall and then attic. Or have a valve to top off your rainwAter system that you flip when your watering to top off the tank. Dilute the salt into rainwater.

    Change suction line on inground?

Currently my system has quite a bit of pipe and the losses in the system mean I need to run the pump at 3/4 speed for the heater not to boil the water. Need to run min 2500rpm but would need to run 2700rpm to get some headroom on the superpump VS 1.65hp. I've also moved the location of the...

    Change suction line on inground?

Is it possible with my in ground vinyl pool to change skimmer suction line without getting into concrete work? I will call the PB later this week to ask their thoughts as well. Currently I have a single 1.5” line to my pump. Considering some plumbing alterations to use 2” to the skimmer and...

Liquid Chlorine - does sealing the container matter?

Hi all, I noticed the pool store liquid chlorine (more expensive option) came with a tear-off cover on the jug while the cheaper department store chlorine did not have the vac sealed tear off lid. Does this make a difference? They are both rated at the same percentage but the pool store one...

Hayward SuperPump VS - remote stop switch wiring

Hi All, Working my way through the manual for the SuperPump VS (on route to me now) I have found that I can wire a remote stop switch. This would be really helpful for me because the filter is in a different compartment under my deck thats ~15' away and turning off the pump to select a new...

Heater controlled "dumb" automation - Jandy JXi "versaflo" output to trigger relay for VS pump

correction, I think I found the description on page 37. it would control a relay to turn the pump on for a minute to maintain heat. not certain how that would work with VSP that is always on and then this output would kick-up. Thank you for that. I will have to figure this out. Its a much...

good find. I cant find any reference to that pin out or how it would operate. I do have access to a meter; I could check it out but would be beneficial to understand it from the manufacturer perspective.

Variable speed question from a single speed owner...

Thanks for that! I used a high end clamp meter last night and tested the draw on my single speed super pump. 14.6amps at 123v.; calculated 1796watts! My daytime energy costs are 17c/kw so it adds up fast. 6hrs @17c/kw, 6hrs at 11.3c/kw and 12hrs at 8.2c/kw.

Variable speed question from a single speed owner...

Do variable speed pump owners run their pump at slow speeds with a flow rate high enough to trip the heater? I am considering moving to a variable speed pump but also have a Jandy heater which requires 30gpm to actuate. My "time of use" electricity rates in Ontario are considerably higher...
