Can you guys tell me about my T-9 aquarite cell? I have a 10,000 gallon pool. Right now my VS pump runs for 2 hours a day at a speed that would activate the salt cell and I have it set to 100%. I can't tell if that's a good setting or not.

It's OK but it seems wrong to pay for an AC unit to heat the pool and spew cold air into my back yard, while right next to it is another ac unit to cool my house, spewing hot air into my back yard.

Wouldn't removing the old plaster mean they need to add even more to replace it (over the quantity used for skim coat)? Is your 50% based on just the removal of the old plaster or does that account for additional materials? Or would the skimcoat use the same amount of materials either way...

The company who gave me the estimate for quartz refinish is charging $7500. Pool is 36x9.5. 6' deep, 3' on the shallow side. They said they'd acid wash, then they'd install over the existing quartz surface.

Just get a Dolphin E30 and toss out the suction cleaner. It's gross to suck up organic stuff and have it sit in the pool filter anyway. They break down and now you're swimming in frog and ant particles. At least, that's what I'm telling myself to justify the $800 robot =)

I just re-read their warranty, it sounds like I can buy it online and then get the full warranty by having someone else install it. Does that sound right? The guy doing the install runs a pool company, they mostly service pools but they do installs of pumps and stuff.

Electric motors are fairly inexpensive. There's no reason for a tiny vacuum robot to have a motor that costs $450.

There's a local company who does pool installs, but also boasts about having licensed HVAC specialists on their staff. I thought "perfect!" But they immediately said they weren't interested when I called their pool department, so the next day I called for the HVAC side and they said the same thing.

any idea on how much it warms the pool per day? How many hours the ac is running? size of ac and pool? I haven't yet had an ac company say they will do it, most either outright say they won't, or they think it won't work because modern ac units are too efficient and don't generate enough heat.

My AC is 64' away from the pool pump. Did you just dig a trench and bury the pipes yourself? I assume it also requires a wire to be run that length to activate the pool pump on demand. Any recommendations for variable speed pump? FPH said I needed 2+ hp. Finally, my ac is almost 8 years old...
