    Water loss whats normal?

The test i did was kind of inconclusive. The dye swirled around the skimmer housing and didn't seem to get sucked in anywhere. I felt around the housing and noticed what appeared to be a crack. I circled it in red here: Is this a common leak area or am I missing something else?

    Water loss whats normal?

Hi, first time pool owner, we opened the pool back in May and topped it off since then it has lost about 2 inches of water. Is this normal evaporation? Its been exactly a month since opening. Sorry if this has been covered, I tried searching but found nothing.

New pool owner first self test..

Ok, I'll get a floater, I'm hesitant to run the pump 24/7 because I was keeping an eye on the DE filter pressure and it was running high. It has since leveled off. I really need to invest in a timer to run it.

Thanks for the link I appreciate it. Is there anything that could really "break" on this style of filter? Or is it the "fingers" get clogged up over time without maintenance?

So you can acid wash them? The video Richard had posted made mention to not use acid and he recommended soap.

    DE Filter question. Newbie

The maintenance prior to me is a big guessing point, I have no idea what was done as it was maintained by my neighbors who used it as a party spot. The gauge does zero out without any moisture trapped in it. The water is pretty clear, it needs another good vacuuming to have it be 100% My concern...

Hey everyone found the forums and have been trying to understand how everything works, bought my first house and it came with an in ground pool. The filter is a Hayward DE EC65.
