    Spa Booster pump tripping breaker

Appreciate it. I will do this, and while I know even new stuff can go bad in a fluke sort of situation, guess it still bothers me that a cap could go bad on something only 3 months old.

    Spa Booster pump tripping breaker

I'm looking for an opinion on my Spa booster pump. About 3 months back the motor died. So I replaced it with the exact same motor, only brand new. I installed it myself to the letter of the instructions, even watched videos on it to ensure correct installation. The motor worked perfectly for 3...

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Great video! Man, that's super helpful and likely saved me hours trying to figure it all out. And my pump is a Pentair Challenger 2, but it looks identical to the one in the video. I'm gonna look at putting check valves, or ball valves in if I ever need to pull the pump completely out. Cause...

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Water level of my pool is below pump level, but spa is about 2' above the pump level and about 40' away. And I just recalled that when I clean the filter basket, water continues to run out and over the sides of the pimp until I put the basket back in and the lid back on. So I'm guessing there's...

    Spa pump tripping breaker

While I'm waiting for my replacement motor to arrive, I went out and began removing my old motor. As I loosened all the bolts, water just kept pouring out. I waited 15 minutes and saw no sign of it slowing so I just tightened back up the bolts. Guess I thought the motor was a sealed shaft and...

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Thanks for the reply. All super helpful stuff. I went ahead and found a new Century replacement motor for it. After weighing all the options, it was $350 wit the seal kit. So I'm gonna give it a go.

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Great stuff! Thanks for the response. I'll look it all up on the Century site and compare the cost of the motor with a whole new pump. Really appreciate all the responses from everyone here.

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Appreciate the response. The brand is AO Smith and it doesn't have unions but it seems to be pretty straight ahead to cut out the plumbing. I'll check out the Waterway brand. Currently, the pump is connected to an AuqaLinkRS remote and is setup as a "booster pump." It's the only remote for this...

    Spa pump tripping breaker

Hello, my spa pump appears to be fairly old. It's a 2HP model and it ONLY serves as a booster pump to the spa that's integrated into my pool-- my VS pool pump handles day to day spa circulation. I've lived in my house for 3 years, so I don't have the spa pump's history. But it trips the breaker...

    Lower TA for SWG startup

Hi, I've read through the TFP articles on SWG startup and water balancing for SWG. But before I start up my SWG I'd been balancing my water the past year just using liquid bleach. Using my Taylor TF100 kit, I'm getting TA readings of around 180. (Yes, I often have to add acid thru the week to...

    Auto fill valve replacement

Thanks to you both for the responses. I like the gasket idea only cause it's easy. But when I examined the autofill valve earlier today, I noticed it was making a hissing sound. Like, maybe water is passing through it even though all my equipment was off. So I'm thinking I'll just put a new one...

    Auto fill valve replacement

This is my first month maintaining my pool by myself so I'm on the learning curve. I'm assuming these are my anti-siphon and autofill valve valves. The autofill is leaking from the top where the red arrow is. While the autofill is threaded connections, the opposite end of the thread appears to...

    UV and SWG combo

Hey Bill, thanks for the reply. And my apologies for taking literally a month to respond- apparently, I don't have the notifications set up properly so I didn't even know you'd written until I checked back in on the thread. You asked my main battle and it was algae and free chlorine levels...

    UV and SWG combo

WOW! Really love all these replies. Thanks to each of ya' for chiming in. I certainly feel I'm in the right place to learn. I'll simply say that I'm gonna follow the above links, read up, order a proper test kit, and get started on inspecting my SWG. I'm sure I'll step back in w/questions...

    UV and SWG combo

Just joined the TFP forum and I'm pretty excited about all the useful info. Up until now, I'd paid someone to maintained our pool. Now I'm starting anew and doing the maintenance myself. My question is regarding my UV and SWG combo. But first, my goal was to try and have a clean and clear pool...
