Intex Ultra Frame Pool on a Concrete Pad

Mine is on a concrete slab also. It's a little over an inch off. 4 years ago I put my pool on carpet padding cut to size. I put a second layer underneath the low end to level it up a bit. At the end of that season, I took it down and stored it til this year (I threw out the pad). I forgot all...

    Cloudy pool

Same thing is happening to my pool, only mine is under a solid open air cover. I added about 2 cups of bleach (per pool calculator) 2 oz of algaecide, and 6 oz of muriatic acid. About how long does it take for all that to mix so I can get a pretty good test again? …. moved from another's thread...

Vacuum for 12' Intex Easy Set?

I have your exact same pool. After a few months with the size pump you have, I went out and got a slightly bigger one, which handles a standard vacuum just fine. Even so, I don't use it but MAYBE once a season because I suck most dirt out with a 15' clear vinyl 1/2" tube, you know, fill the tube...

Anyone have any ingenious ways to heat water in an Above Ground?

Why does my pool feel warmer in the early morning? Also, I believe my chemistry is finally decent. Now I want to go after the "feel." Granted this is a little itty bitty pool compared to you big boys out there, but SO nice to have after work (or before)(or on my lunchbreak), and I want it as...

Anyone have any ingenious ways to heat water in an Above Ground?

Yah...somewhere I read about all the btu's required to heat a pool. Sigh. Even so, my mental state is sufficiently convinced to take the plunge! Once I'm in, it's all good.

Anyone have any ingenious ways to heat water in an Above Ground?

I hung a $10 swamp cooler pump from the ladder to the inside of the pool and routed $30 worth of black 1/2" hose (150 feet) to do a little solar help. It works great, but then, I have a little 12 footer, and it's AZ, which means solar is never in short supply. Yes, I gotta get in and stir it up...

4yr old never opened box Intex24' still good?

I put up my little 12 footer up 4 summers ago. That fall I took it down and the liner has been stored in various places--back patio, garage, laundry room...I just put it up 2 days ago and it's fine. Now if I can quickly get reeducated on chemistry I'll be in good shape!

Question about installing a Coleman Pool on cement

For my first year I put a 12 foot x 36" pool on a concrete slab. I used a piece of carpet padding (that light green stuff with blue and red foam bits in it) under it, trimming it to the shape. It worked fine. The squares will work also. You may see the pattern of the squares through the liner...

Upgraded plumbing and thru-wall skimmer for Intex pool.

This is from another thread in this website: i just put a skimmer in mine yesterday with my pool full and no problems i did not lose a pint of water and it is better to have the pool full because the liner is stretched. when you install it make sure it is level and start at the top corners and...

Upgraded plumbing and thru-wall skimmer for Intex pool.

You'll know when it's time to start modifications, the reasons just sort of manifest themselves. I had no intention of doing ANYTHING with this, my first pool, and already I've cut into it, rigged a vacuum system and upgraded to a larger-than-stock pump. I have no need of a skimmer at this...

New metal frame pool with pinhole size leak on side wall

Re: 15 x 42 metal frame pool with pinhole leak on side - HEL There's a product out there that's an underwater wet/dry goo for doing small patches. Cheers! I had a leak within the first hour of my pool also but it's been great ever since (goin on 2 months now)

    Rigging up a simple vacuum

Ah. I'll take it apart then. So maybe I can make a mesh "sock" that'll be fastened at the intake that I can pull out when I take the hose out after vacuuming? And by chance do you know if it's okay to run the filter/pump with the pool cover on.

    Rigging up a simple vacuum

I picked up a vacuum head, a pole and a pool hose. I unscrewed the intake cover in the pool and found that when the pump is turned on, it suctions the hose very nicely, eliminating the project of modifying a plunger to suction to the wall over the intake cover. It works GREAT except I am...

Upgraded plumbing and thru-wall skimmer for Intex pool.

Well I went ahead and upgraded to the 2500gph, and LOVE it. I followed the guidance by another poster to cut the liner so the supplied fittings would work as designed. I highly recommend doing this procedure.

    cutting my intex pool

I just completed this "operation" as well. Yes it's scary, but the end result is SO worth it. I went from the teeny pump that came with the pool to the 633T. 1. I loosened the 4 clamps holding the hoses onto the pump and going to the pool wall. 2. I lifted the pump above water level, took off...

    Go with the flow

I am thinking it would be wise to order a bigger filter pump for my little pool. What the pool came with is a 530 gph model. It just seems like it's not moving anything. I am debating between getting the 1500 or the 2500. 1. I understand there are adapters that I must buy to convert the existing...

    Numbers off the charts!

Thank you both. The ph before I added this last round of acid was more intense red than 8.2, which is as high as my tube goes. I'll keep mixing it up with my gallon throw-ins. I'm going to say, Jason, that the FC must have also been high as it turned this deep orangy yellow right off the bat. I...

    Numbers off the charts!

Alrightee. In wanting to add borates to my picture, I added a box of dissolved-in-pool-water borax (76 oz) and muriatic acid (about 60 oz) to my little pool last night. To help stir it up I went around the edge of the pool scooping up gallons of water and throwing it back in, probably a dozen...

    Slideshow

I decided to put the pool on a concrete slab under a ramada for the summer. I'm hoping I will need less chlorine because it's in the shade a lot. I'm going to add borates to it. So far so good, it's just too cold to get in, gotta wait until it hits regular 100's, and actually, I'm really liking...

Different numbers on my test kit?

Just to clarify, and to make sure I'm on the absolute right track: 1. In the evening, after I add muriatic acid to lower the ph (if necessary), a half an hour later I'm adding dichlor at the rate of about 3 oz/night for 4 nights. Out of the many choices of shock I looked at, I bought the one...

Different numbers on my test kit?

Different numbers on my test kit?

My concern is two-fold. 1. I bought a little test kit that came with 2 bottles to test ph and chlorine. The acrylic vials have numbers next to them and that typical color bar and I'm to add 5 drops of the appropriate reagent to each side. The ph side makes sense, but the chlorine side has a...

    Pool Leaking

To continue the saga, I dribbled some red food coloring into the 1" of water. It slowly spread. After about an hour of nothing obvious, and increasingly pink water, I decided the dye test was not applicable to my case. I started a siphon with some tubing and began the pinhole hunt (why didn't I...

    Pool Leaking

I was in the "fill the pool with an inch of water to see if it's level" stage when I noticed water coming out from the bottom of my new Intex. Great. My first attempt with an Intex and I have a leak after 1". I am going to try to locate the hole (via sunlight, per above) and a dye test, though I...
