    Pentair iChlor Error

Update to close out this thread. Pentair ended up replacing the entire cell under warranty with a new iChlor 30 today. I am back up and running after dealing with manually adding chlorine for about a month and that was more of a pain than I expected it to be.

    Pentair iChlor Error

Thank you for your comments. I did check and I do have the same flow I normally get at the returns and I am confident I do not have an actual water flow issue. I did backwash the sand filter this morning to make absolutely sure and pressure was as it typically is after I backwashed and flow...

    Pentair iChlor Error

Within the last 4 days my approximately 2 year old iChlor 30 stopped producing chlorine. The SALT and CELL lights are flashing red and the FLOW light is flashing green. The OUTPUT screen is displaying "FLO". When I go into diagnostics mode I am able to read the Total Cell Hours (1,950) and...

    CH with SWCG

Thank you. I do keep my pool filled via a water softener as you guessed above. This is the 3rd swimming pool I have owned in Tucson and the other two were filled with high CH city water and not softened water. Its hard to imagine having to raise CH here right? My other two pools always had...

    Need advice about glass.

I'll chime in here as well. I have had three different pools and 4 different filter types. My first pool was on a cartridge filter. My second pool was initially sand filter and switched to a DE filter when the sand filter failed. My current pool has a sand filter and is filled with Dr Dryden...

PH quick rise on recently renovated pool

Thanks Dirk. I read through much of your thread. The intelliph sounds like potentially a good solution....I will need to find out if it is compatible with my iCHLOR as you noted.

PH quick rise on recently renovated pool

Thanks for your thoughts. I agree that the PH rise is probably mostly due to new plaster. I had not considered the TA of my fill water and the high current evaporation rate. I will test my fill water soon to see if it has higher TA than the pool water. I understand and agree on the...

PH quick rise on recently renovated pool

Hi all. The PH of my recently renovated (9 months ago) in ground pebble finish SWG pool consistently creeps above 8 within 24 to 36 hours after lowering to 7.5. The water looks great and the surface of the pool is clean. Here are my numbers as of this morning: FC - 4 PH - 8.2 TA - 60 CH...

    New Pool - Test Results

Thank you for the responses. I updated my signature to include the fact that the pool is plaster. While this pool is new to me I should clarify that the pool itself is old and was originally built in 1973. I should also add that the water is ever so slightly cloudy. I am not new to pools and...

    New Pool - Test Results

I recently (November 8, 2016) purchased a new home with a pool and due to the time requirements of an ongoing home renovation I just today finally had time to check the water chemistry. It's a 21,000 gallon rectangular in-ground plaster pool with no spa and no water feature. Here are the...

Yes. I have AquaLogic PS8. I see 'Main Software Revision 2.66' under the Diagnostic Menu. Is that the firmware version?

Aqua Rite - How to Program Spillover

Does anybody know how to program Aqua Rite PS 8 so that the timer can run the filter in spillover mode for an hour and then run in pool only mode for the rest of the program? I can only figure out how to do one or the other in configuration menu. Thanks.

Testing and Balancing a pool and spa with SWCG

Thanks for the quick responses guys. You both said the same thing separated by two minutes. I'll run on spillover mode for an hour each day and the rest on pool only. Does it make the most sense to run on spillover at the end of the cycle? Or does it not really matter?

Testing and Balancing a pool and spa with SWCG

I have a pool and spa (elevated) combo with one pump and filter for both the pool and the spa. The water has consistently sparkled and I have had zero issues for the past year or or so thanks to TFP. For the past three years (since I acquired my home) I have been running the SWCG with the...

New DE Filter - Start Up Questions

Thank you Jason. My water was very clear already and the DE stayed in the filter so I should be good. BTW, I didn't add more DE on purpose...it was just a measurement malfunction on my part. I guess I need to buy a more precise scale. Either way, I don't think the extra .5 pound should be a...

New DE Filter - Start Up Questions

I have an 18,000 gallon pool with spa and installed a new DE filter (Hayward DE6020) yesterday in place of my broken sand filter. When I first started up the filter before adding DE, the pressure was reading 15 psi and after adding 8 pounds of DE (the filter calls for 7.5 pounds) through the...

Need help on filter size - Replacing my Hayward filter

Thanks Jason. I am comforted to see that you have about the same size pool as I do and live in Tucson and have the Hayward 6020 DE Filter. If it is working for you I am sure it will work for me. BTW, I got the longer cycles thing mostly because of the increased filtration area.
