I rarely "shock" my pool. I'm going on my 4th swim season since we've had the pool built and I can say that without even testing, I can tell if I need to add bleach to my pool just by looking at it. After a while, I think you can really tell just by looking at your pool, what it needs and...

Hmm......why is this? I ALWAYS shut off the pump when the kids are swimming, which is pretty much all day. I still have that "main drain" fear, even though I know it's safe...

Off topic...sorry Jnorris......I just noticed you have the same size pool as me! How are you liking the size? I had ordered a 18 X 36 and the pool company was having a special.....they were giving everyone 4 extra feet. I love the length...you can really swim laps and get a pretty good...

Yikes!!! :shock: That frog would have scared me half to death!! That is exactly why I use a hook to take the skimmer top off when I empty it. The "worst" thing I ever came across was a chipmunk...the same chipmunk I believe I rescued from drowning in my pool the day before...
