    Safety Pool Covers

So I'm looking to purchase a safety cover for the winter. The salesman says a GLI Promesh with 5 by 5 squares will do the trick. However, my pool contractor says this is not sturdy enough and recommends a cover with 3 by 3 squares , which has more tension but also more expensive. Also the 3 by...

    FAS-DPD tests

I do notice small chunks of powder and I try to dissolve . That is probably the culprit. No don't have the stir stick. Water is crystal clear. However, I feel like I'm using a lot of daily chlorine, so I'm thinking I have a bit of algae.

    FAS-DPD tests

So I have a Talyor 2005 C testing kit. I also purchased the FAS-DPD separately. When I test for CC, after the solution turns colorless, about half a minute later it turns faintly pink again. Just did the test today, using an 0.5 multiplier volume , and after 3 drops it still turned slightly...

    chlorine usage excessive?

Is it normal that my chlorine drops from 5ppm to 1 ppm everyone 24 hours. We only have 2-3 bathers for about an hour. We do get a lot of sunshine however. Does alkalinity affect chlorine? Last time I checked it was about 85. Im using about 2.5 chlorine jugs (3.6L 10.8% chlorine ) per week...

    Phosphates

yes pool store. so should i be measuring myself? Also, their test detected minerals. 0.2 ppm of copper and 0.1 ppm of iron. And they recommended a product to remove them , as they can stain my liner. Is this a concern? Should I use it?

    Phosphates

So during my last few water tests , my phosphates have been slowly climbing over the past month. My recent reading was 300ppb about 1.5 weeks ago. However, my test today show 67ppb. Is this possible? We have had a lot of rain, not sure if this affects phosphates. I thought the only way to...

    Liquid Chlorine

Hi, I have an inline chlorinator with Trichlor pucks. I'm afraid of running all the time for the duration of summer as I don't want to have excessive CYA levels and thus have to drain the pool. What is the best way for me to chlorinate? Liquid chlorine? Also, can I switch up my chlorinator...

    Optimal settings for pump

Thank you. I read ideally the pool water should be filtered 3 - 4 times per day. Therefore, I thought if I had it a certain flow rate say 25 GPM , my pool water would have turned over 3 times per day. Does this sound right?

    Optimal settings for pump

Hi , Im wondering what my optimal settings would be for my variable speed pump. Currently I have it on at 1900 RPM 24 hours a day. This is producing a flow rate of 24 GPM (as per Intellicenter readings). Want to know what is optimal and most cost effective setting.
