Hi there, as the title says, I’m new to the use of a sand filter(SandPro 75D). Question is, do I have to keep the backwash plug in, switching to the backwash hose & fitting only when backwashing? Or can I just leave the backwash hose hooked up?

Second year with the Coleman 12x22 pool. First summer was an eye opener! Have bought new pump/filter/heater/chlorination and am in the process of setting them up now. Hard piping everything together, a lot of MagGyver’ing to be done. Hopefully I can find some answers here. BTW, the new equipment...
