    Closing Pool in Central Texas

We get a lot of wind since we are up on a hill, but I checked the water temp an it was at 74, so I don't think it will freeze even though we are suppose to reach 28 tonight. I just want to be save since my husband isn't home to tend to the pool. I guess I'll run it from 2am-6am.

    Closing Pool in Central Texas

First time pool owner. We put in a fiberglass pool this past summer so this is our first winter with it. I didn't plan on closing the pool as we only get a couple of freezing days during the winter. Tonight is our first night dropping below freezing. I checked my pump and it does NOT have an...

    Lonestar Fiberglass Pools

We went with Lonestar. It was about $15K cheaper for the same specs. We love the pool. Had issues on the build but it is working itself out.

    CH test

Stayed cleared....I haven't had the TF-100 kit even a month. Think it could be bad?

    CH test

I did this test today and it did't change colors. Do I continue one to the next step in adding drops until it changes to blue?

Turn over and run time and time of day to run

Total Dynamic Head of 65 is in feet of water. Before I got the cool misting sprayer my water temp was at 92 degrees, now it is at 86 degrees. So I prefer to run it at night. I will check to see what my SWG is running on. I am pretty sure I dropped it down already to 20, but I will double...

Turn over and run time and time of day to run

I have been reading on this site and my manuel to my pump but I still confused. My specs are listed below. First I'm trying to find out what my turn over rate is. I see on my manual that Total Head is about 65 and my GPM is at 90. I'm not sure how to do the math on this. Also, does my...

    FC and pool run time

It's at 40%. Is it okay not to run the filter during the day hours even with 100 degree weather? The reason I'm running it at night is because the air temp is much cooler and I put in one of the cooling mist that spray the water through the air to help keep the water the water temp down...

    FC and pool run time

My FC has been holding at 13 for a week or so. The Pool Calculator says this will go down on it's own. I'd like to get it down to 7. I have SWG and I am wondering if it has to do with my pump run times. I have been running for 5 hours in the early am 12-5. Then during the day I run 30...

    My numbers after 4 weeks

FC 6.5 pH 7.8 been holding at that for 4 days with tons of swimming by the kiddos TA 100 CH 230 CYA - 30 I thinks it's going very well thanks to this website. I plan to add some Muratic Acid to lower my TA to 80 and pH to 7.2. CYA added stablizer on Sunday, so I'm going to give it until this...

    Starting to get it

We have been in our pool about 2 weeks now. Here are my latest numbers. I think I'm starting to get it right....still need to fine tune some things but I'm getting there. FC - 7 pH - 7.5 TA - 80 (This I finally got down from 160) CH - 120 (My next focus) CYA - 30 (Finally moving in the right...

    San Juan Fiberglass Iridium Finish?

We have something close to the Blue Lagoon from another company which is very nice. It does sparkle in the sun which is really cool. As far as stains, I don't know since we have only had it for a couple of weeks. I'm in Texas I can tell you that it does attract the heat, but I plan to battle...

    Central Texas Fiberglass Pool Build

This is what I thought and all the PB wants to do is to send the subcontractor out to fix the current areas. I tried explaining that this may be a process that would happen a couple of time during the summer as some grout may be a bit thicker than what has already fallen off. Drain, fix, dry...

    Where should my focus be?

My SWG system runs at 11 hours a day at 60%. Plan on cutting this time down to 10 at 40% to see if this will help with the jump in FC. Thursday morning results: SWG - did not test FC - 12 (not sure why it jumped up so much from yesterday only thing I added was Muratic Acid to lower pH and...

    Central Texas Fiberglass Pool Build

So what would be the best fix for this? My fear is they bandaide it and then 2 weeks later areas that are a bit thicker than these start falling off. Endless cycle ahead?

    Where should my focus be?

Can someone look at my test results and let me know what I should really be attacking first. I've been focusing on the TA but not sure if that's the right direction to go. Any input would be appreciated. My Goals Fiberglass with SWG (3000-3200 ppm 200-400 above recommended optimum level ) FC...

Fiberglass owners... does your pool have any gelcoat cracks?

Re: Fiberglass owners... does your pool have any gelcoat cra Ours doesn't have cracks but we did find a spot in the shallow end that looks as something spilled on it and left a ring stain about the 12"x12" in size. They are suppose to come out an look at it. I'll let you know what they say.

    Central Texas Fiberglass Pool Build

I can live with the crack because we are probably going to use Sundek that will run down to the top of the tile line which will hide some of it. I just don't like the white popping out now from the grout. It is very noticiable. It's not salt buildup....salt has only been in the pool since...

These pictures some more areas of where the white is now showing through. There are many more places like this. When we same on Monday, they weren't there, but yesterday they were. I hate to see what it will look like in a week or two if left as is.
