    Calcium scale?

Looks like I have my first instance of calcium scale. I had to SLAM the pool and have maintained high chlorine levels, so I haven’t been able to test PH. I just tested and my Alkalinity is 110, so likely the culprit here where it has a slow leak from my fountains. Best bet to do an...

Easy way to test T-15 Salt Cell?

Thanks, yeah this is a brand new cell that showed the correct diagnostics, I was just questioning whether it was really putting out chlorine or not.

Easy way to test T-15 Salt Cell?

Thanks! Did a gain test and put 100% on my salt cell overnight and FC went from 17 to 25, so I am in the clear with the salt cell working. I had around 1.5CC last night when I tested 17FC, so my SLAM maybe just wasn't finished. As always, thanks for the help.

Easy way to test T-15 Salt Cell?

Ok, I will run the gain test tonight. Diagnostics all looked good, around 88 degrees, -3200 salt, ~6Amps, and ~26V, but I will send the exact numbers tonight when I turn the cell back on. Everything on the controller appears to be working as expected, the FC loss just stumps me.

Easy way to test T-15 Salt Cell?

Hey all! Been a long time follower here and utilize all the resources, including Pool Math. My main question is: On a Hayward T-15 Salt Cell, all the numbers on the panel look good and readings are correct, but is there another physical way to test to see if the salt cell is producing...

    Hurricane Ian

Hey all - looking for some guidance as we get prepared for Hurricane Ian. Shame on me for being late here, but am trying to figure out an easy way to drain my pool. I do not have a spigot or any way to drain using the pump. The only method I can logically see is to use the drain plug on the...

Pool Solar - New Roof - Should I go East or West?

Hey All! I am getting a new roof on Monday and having a solar company rip down my existing, 6 panel, west facing solar panels. These panels were approximately 300-400ft away from the pool pump. The technician just made a suggestion that for another ~$500, he would recommend adding 2 panels...

Broken Electrical Pin on Communication Port Intelliflo

Yeah, lol I sell connectors and cables for a living, but Pentair used a custom shop and I can't tell the part number for the pins/housing. Might have to get him a sample of one of my companies sealed connector. I was just seeing if any one had a quick source of the existing solution. Thanks guys

Broken Electrical Pin on Communication Port Intelliflo

Hey guys, My dad busted a pin on the IntelliFlo VS pump that connects to the solar panel. Any idea where we could purchase this cable? Or should we try to re-terminate the pin, even though I have no idea where to procure the pins themselves?

    Itchy Skin while swimming

Pool felt much better today guys. Thanks! However, I now noticed my Calcium Hardness is creeping down. Have yet to add Calcium Chloride. Cheapest places to buy? Pretty common to need to add to a plaster pool? I’m assuming all the rain recently is affecting the levels

    Itchy Skin while swimming

Thanks. Just tested and got CYA: 50 FC: 9 PH: 7.8 CC: 0 So we think it is a PH thing? I’ve been putting in acid about every other week. But maybe I’ll add more. Could it be the high chlorine level based on the 50 CYA?

    Itchy Skin while swimming

Thanks. Will do. I thought since it doesn’t evaporate, it really shouldn’t change much over a month.

    New to Saltwater Generators

My vote is for the 55 gallon drum of liquid chlorine. It really is the only answer at this point. Liquid chlorine is going to add more FC to the pool than any of these other options without throwing any other chemistry off. liquid is going to allow you to get to over 3PPM and allow you to do...

    New to Saltwater Generators

I think we are all waiting for you to get bleach and do a FC and overnight loss test, after you bump your FC way up using liquid bleach. I'm surprised there are no places near you, no Walmart/Home Depot/Mendards/etc?

    Vacuum Relief Valve Leaking

Well good news - Got the new VRV, wrapped the threads with some pipe tape and running beautifully at 1400 RPM today. No leaks, no drips, nothing. So for any one else that is new - The Vacuum Relief Valves must just have a life span due to the spring tension. Very SIMPLE replacement process...

Yes... here's another newbie with a pool

Yeah I would give it some time. Pool math has been dead on for me. Maybe triple check the pool size? But would imagine the pool builder is right on size lol!

Yes... here's another newbie with a pool

I believe I have read a new plaster built pools have a constant Ph rise. Some one here can comment how much. but if the other items seem to be right with pool math additions, I wouldn’t stress it.

    New to Saltwater Generators

Agree! Why not get the levels right with liquid chlorine first, and then try the SWGs? Everything we have heard sounds like something is eating your FC You got this! I would shut down the SWGs and off line chlorinator and just use liquid chlorine up to 15+ PPM based on CYA/FC levels and monitor...

    TF-100 Chlorine Cylinder Losing Markings?

Nope, fill to test, then dump down sink and rinse the tube with water from my sink faucet. Really surprised it’s faded so fast.
