So I just had the same company give me an estimate on a variable speed pump... Is this reasonable? Pump - Pentair - Intelliflo VSF3 W/O Board PUR-10-1076 - INTELLIFLO3 VSF PUMP W/OUT RELAY I/O BOARD 1 $2,499.99 I don't understand what a relay board is and if needed? This would all connect...

    Salt Water Generator Automation System

Thank you for your comments. We almost never use the Spa so I would say yes, We are fine continuing to manually switch from POOL to SPA and back when you want yo use the spa? How do you think this investment will help you when you are traveling? I guess my assumption was that I would get...

    Salt Water Generator Automation System

Hello all, I am thinking of installing a SWG. I did receive an estimate from a local pool supplier and it was over $5000.... We have a small pool. They are recommending Pentaiir Easy Touch PSL4w/Screen logic $2100 Pentair Chlorinator IC30 $1587 this seems small only...

    Pool equipment slab cracking

Hello everyone, I am noticing significant cracking in the concrete slab that my pool equipment rests on.. It was only a slight crack a few months ago but with our monsoon rains it has now gotten worse. So a few questions. It sounds like an expensive proposition to have someone remove all the...

    Maintenance free pool...almost

Thank you. We are not leaving this year but trying to plan for next year's options. Looks like hiring the pool guy is the easiest option. Although many will not do vacation coverage anymore. I appreciate all the feedback😊

    Maintenance free pool...almost

Hello all, we live in Tucson Arizona where almost every home has a pool. I love my pool however now that we are retired we really would like to escape the heat and travel in the summer(1-3 months at time). We do not have family close by and our friends are not keen on checking the pool esp...

    Pool Deck Repair

Hello everyone we have a problem with the decking peeling of on the area above the water line and leaving exposed concrete. I am unsure what to use to repair this. We have pealed off most of the loose coating. It is only in a few area's..My husband purchased something called EZ Patch plaster...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

Thank you MK. I think this maybe beyond our skill set esp when things don't go as planned as usually happens. With such an old pump I'm afraid there may be more things that could go wrong. Will wait and see what the repair estimate is... Will keep this link for future reference.

    Air Relief Valve

Thank you that's a great idea! Yes pressure goes to xero when off. I did install a skimmer sock today. I hope that will help.. Hopefully debris will be gone in another month..

    Air Relief Valve

Hello all, I have 2 quetions. I'm sure this is an easy fix but I don't want to break anything. The air relief valve on my Pentair Clean and Clear 200 filter is pointed in the wrong directions. It points directly at the heater vs out into the open area. So everytime I release air it soaks into...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

Update, the pool tech was out today. He reported that the Jandy pump itself has an internal air leak. He reports he could tell by the sound it was making and it requires a new internal sealent kit....Does that sound reasonable? THe pump is about 15 years old...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

MK filter pressure is good about 12 PSI. Jets all appear to have the same output. Yes will buy some new O rings. Thanks for your suggestions.... I did raise the water level but it did not seem to make a difference.

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

It just started about a weeks ago. The only thing that has been different is that we have had alot of debris in the pool. The Mesquite tree's along the street are blooming and dropping pods and debris constantly. We are cleaning several times a day but I guess it is possible that there is a...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

Yes thanks getting bubbles with displayed valve settings. I did not disconnect the vacumn but I did check the hoses and did not see any apparent leaks. Pool tech cannot come out till next Wed. Is it safe to run pump as is for another 5 days? Otherwise pool looks good..

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

I'm not sure then. I only have the following 4 valves 1 Spa Suction off unless I am cleaning spa 1 Spa Returns open slightly for circulation 1 Water Feature usually off. 1 Skimmer 1 Hayward vacuum connected to a port on the side of the pool. I guess I will try to minimize use of the Skimmer...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

I do not believe it is a dedicated line for the suction vacumn. That end of the valve/pipe is not labled. I believe it controls water flow/suction to all the pool jets. When I have the Skimmer valve "off" I get no bubbles after about 5 min. But when I open it even slightly I then get bubbles...

Air Bubbles from all pool jets

Yes I have one valve for the spa suction which is off. The other valve is the skimmer. I have been told to keep that valve at about 3 pm or 4 pm so that the skimmer is partially open but I have enough suction for my robotic vacumn to work also. If I have the skimmer wide open then my vacumn...
