We Have a Winner! TFP Pool of the Month (June 2023); Theme - Water Clarity

The TFP method really works. My in-laws were visiting and I forgot to take a photo until the last day when it was overcast. I did no additional prep to get the water that clear. It is really nice knowing the water is clean and clear so you can swim at any time.

Flashing the Drive - Pentair Easy Touch 8

It is possible an IntelliComm interface is being used to control the third pump. If this is the case, that pump will show 0 RPM when off. https://www.pentair.com/en-us/products/residential/pool-spa-equipment/pool-automation/intellicomm_ii_interfaceadapter.html

    Cartridge Filter Cleaning stands?

Do you know what size ABS you used? I have been using a 5 gallon bucked turned upside down and it is not easy on my back. This would be much better. I usually do this in my driveway so the water can run off so I could make it more of a stand with legs. I just cleaned my filters a couple of...

Floor Pop Up Not Going Down

Try cleaning the cartridge in the distribution valve. I noticed one of mine was staying up and when I removed the lid there was some dirt in the cartridge. This link can help you determine other steps based on the symptoms. https://www.1paramount.com/faqs/

    2023 Bleach Prices

Have you seen the price of water softener salt? I paid $5 and some change when I converted to salt last year, paid $8.97 when I grabbed a couple bags for my water softener this week.

How to prevent Pentair SWG with EasyTouch from running with no flow?

You should be able to set the SWG output in the easy touch to 0% for spa mode. That will turn it off and then the flow switch is your secondary safety again.

    Solar power installation

I have two neighbors that ended up going with Tesla for their solar and power walls. Both of them tried to be told they needed more equipment (meaning more money) when the installers showed up because they don't send anyone out for a site visit during the estimating phase. One of my neighbors...

topping off pool frequency...and while I am here, salt water generator RPM?

That RPM seems high but it depends on how your plumbing is set up. I can run my IC60 at 1200 RPM if my heater bypass is open. If its closed then there is not enough flow to trigger the flow switch. Can you post some pics of your equipment?

    SWG and Intellicenter

I think when the water is too cold the cold water light comes on and I don't think the cell even checks the salt level so that light is usually off as well.

    SWG and Intellicenter

What lights are on the SWG when the pool mode is OFF and the cooler feature circuit is OFF? I still think the SWG is getting power all the time and the intellicenter is not sending the signal to generate since pool mode is off.

    SWG and Intellicenter

I have a feeling your SWG is getting power all the time and not from the pump/filter relay. If you turn off all of your features and the pump does the SWG power down? I have my "pool" set to run for 14 hrs a day so that is when the SWG is on. I use a feature circuit to run the pool on high...

Sreenlogic 8; Aux valve B to aux 7 relay to 24v sprinkler valve...help.

How do you plan on knowing when/how much water to add? I have an in floor cleaning system that pulls from one skimmer. When the pool water gets just slightly low it starts sucking air from the volume of water it is pulling. I installed one of kona labs autofill sensors. I did run the power...

We have a Winner! - TFP Pool of the Month (June 2022); Theme - Water Clarity

I am very thankful I was able to find this site before our pool was filled so I have been trouble free from day 1! I was really nervous about installing a pool bc I have never had one before and didn't do very well in chemistry class. This website makes it so easy to test and to understand why...

    How screwed am I?

Your original pvc pipe is on the inside of the valve. You should be able to get a coupler and go "outside" the valve and then use a reducer. The valves are usually set up for 1/2" differences. So if the pipe currently used is 2" you would need a 2.5" coupler and then a 2.5" to 2" bushing. When...

When to replace popups after resufacing?

When our pool was completed the in floor ran for 3 days with no module (allowed water to all zones all the time). During pool school he was going to install the module and the pop ups but the pop ups were not on site. After installing the module and we were running only one zone at a time, we...

Tried SLAM - Went another route, pool clear now but new question

I just got done doing a SLAM for my cousin. Started with testing three times a day and then went to twice a day on day number three. It is more important to check more often at the beginning because the chlorine will drop faster. The pool is safe to swim in up to SLAM level of chlorine. His...

    High CYA-Need to SLAM

I just wanted to post an update to give other people hope and confidence that the SLAM procedure really does work!! The first three photos are before we started on 4/18. We drained approx 50% of the pool and refilled it due to the high CYA and CH. 4/19 I dropped the pH to 7.2 and added...

    Balancing before SWG startup

I'm still new to all of this pool stuff but I don't see any reason you need to get the CYA up before adding the salt. You will definitely want to get the CYA up when you start using the SWG. I have not used liquid stabilizer so I'm not help there. If you go the powder route I find panty hose...
