    Pentair cartridge filter rusting inside

Thank you for your input. I will try to clean it with Bar Keepers Friend. My bigger worry in not the life of equipment but rather iron stains in the pool. I wonder if rusting of the equipment is common with SWG or if I have messed up something.

    Any irrigation experts in here?

I am not an expert, but based on what I have seen and experienced, I would not put more than 5-6 sprinklers on one valve with 3/4" pipes. You may not get enough water pressure to properly run more than 6 sprinklers per valve

New East Texas Pool Build- Part 2

I've got all Pentair equipment, put the heater is Sta-Rite. My PB recommended it based on the issues he observed with the pentair heaters. Sta-Rite is now one of the Pentair brands and we have got the same 3 year warranty on it. Just something to consider.

Beware of Scott's Green Max Southern Lawn fertilizer

Well, no good deed goes unpunished. Yesterday I have bought some lawn fertilizer and applied around the lawn including next to the pll deck. When I was swimming late in the evening I have noticed some brownish areas on the pebble walls. Initially I thought it was just dirt and I need to brush...

    Courtyard Lap Pool (DFW)

Yes, I am happy with VOLT fixtures - very well built. And as long as transformer is installed at the equipment pad, it will be quite easy to use one of the available easytouch relays to control lights via wireless controller or via the easytouch scheduler

    Courtyard Lap Pool (DFW)

I just love the travertine deck (french pattern) for the looks and that it is manageable to walk on under Houston's sun. The only mainenance issue is due to the way how deck was installed - on the bed of crushed stone and sand. I have a free form pool with a lot of curves, so gaps between...

    Courtyard Lap Pool (DFW)

Also, since you have travertine coping and deck, I would suggest to install an Intellichlor SWG system. I have the pool for a 1.5 years and have not observed any salt-related issues with travertine. It will be easier to install IntelliTouch system now with the built-in Intelliclor power system...

    Courtyard Lap Pool (DFW)

One thing to think about is to have a separate pump for laminars. It will make it much easier/faster to turn on/off laminars without disrupting pool filtering. My PB included two separate pumps with independent suction lines for water features and now I find it extremely convenient to control...

Dumb question... How do I heat my new pool?

Since you have EasyTouch, the heater should turn on automatically when it is in pool mode and the water temperature is below the temperature that is set through EasyTouch (using left and right buttons). I must have missed this in your post, but can you reply to these questions below: 1. Is your...

    Easytouch wireless controller vs Screenlogic

One thing to consider is that the wireless remote is splash/water proof, so you can safely use it by the pool or spa (eg. adjust spa temperature or change the pool color mode) Not sure you can safely use a tablet or phone by the pool, unless it has a waterproof case. I had a misfortune taking a...

Auto-Fill: Must Have or Pain in the Rear?

I can speak from my experience only. I am happy that I've got the autofill. I am typically away during the week and can't regularly watch the water level. During one week when the pool got filled, but autofill was not connected, I got the water level very low (evaporation - live in Houston) and...

Air in filter basket and filter

I had a problem with air in the basket at one of the water feature pumps. Initially I thought it was a suction side air leak. PBS came and pulled a piece of plaster stuck in the suction line. Air in the pump basket was caused by cavitation. Now everything is fine
