    Okay.. Thanks!

    Pool Math Issue

It's working now! Thanks. The target range for my Free CL is 4 - 12. That's pretty broad. Can I set it at 5 and not have a range? I'd also like pump hours as opposed to SWG % as a default.

    Pool Math Issue

Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to fix the issue on my Android. On my Windows computer it tells me I don't have a subscription. I prefer to work on the computer.... much bigger screen. Thoughts?

    Pool Math Issue

Maybe the issue is me, I don't know. Pool math worked last year, but this year I can change a value, but not save it. It keeps reverting back to my last value 7 months ago. How can I save the new value?

    Bonding metal scuppers really necessary?

I'm far from an expert, but the answer might just be in this video. I'd say if your water is bonded, so is the scupper. Watch what happens to Mike Holt swimming in water intentionally charged with 120V.

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

So many things to check before pool opening, but I'll feel MUCH safer afterwards.

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

This is a lot of knowledge in a very long video.

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

Exactly. At least I have the rest of the winter to plan and execute the additional safety measures... I never heard of the copper mesh..... looking now!

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

Agreed. I'm trying to figure out "why" some say to bury the loop between 12 and 24 inches outside the wall. In the event someone might be adjusting a solar cover from outside the pool standing on the ground, would it not be safer if the loop was 3 or 4 feet outside the pool wall so the person...

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

I just found this recent thread on Mike Holts Forum. It is my understanding that Mike Holt's Forum is a well respected source for electric information. I'm still curious as to why some bury a complete loop of copper. Q: Does the 4 point bonding described in 680.26(B)(2) apply to all vinyl lined...

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

Thanks Guys! I appreciate the help. I live in a very rural area. Wouldn't have it any other way. Permits are not required, and there is no residential inspector. (just perfect). That said, I always strive to do things right. I stumbled upon some of those old posts looking at other threads, and...

Above ground pool bonding (metal wall)

Well, it's not quite pool time here, so the best I can do is log on and read about them... LOL. So I haven't seen anything very recent about bonding the steel wall panel on an above ground pool. I see mostly the concept of running a #8 copper wire around the entire perimeter of the pool...

    SWG Power Source

Good point... and easy enough to do. Thanks!

    SWG Power Source

I will be using an automation with Samsung SmartThings. It can be included in the system I built to operate the 2 speed pump which is controlled by the Heat Pump. I guess the flow switch will be the "back-up". If the pump and SWG are controlled by the same relay, is there really a need for the...

    SWG Power Source

Interesting... I always thought my larger pieces of tools and equipment like compressors ran cheaper on 220..... learned something here again! thanks.

    SWG Power Source

thanks!!!! ...and will save money on installation. Good to know. I appreciate the help on here!

    SWG Power Source

The pool does/did not have a timer. I ran it 24/7. When the HP calls for heat, the pump switches to high. Unfortunately, I found that allowing the HP to run at night did very little to heat the pool, but did jack the electric bill up to 300/month. This spring the pool will be running only during...

    SWG Power Source

I am converting to SWG in the spring (CircuPool Universal UL40) . The SWG unit can operate on either 120 or 240. It is factory wired for 240 and I'd probably rather keep it that way. (it seems to use less power on 240). That said, I have 2 circuits on the pad. 20 amp/120 for the 2 speed...

    Converting Trichlor to Liquid Chlorine

Well..... after weighing all the pros and cons of both systems, (and leaning towards CL injection), I went SWG. With the promo at Discount Salt Pool, the $1,200.00 generator is $979.00. Thanks @Mdragger88 . I learned that their 7 year warranty is not REALLY a 7 year warranty though. A discount...

    Converting Trichlor to Liquid Chlorine

Looks like a good deal. Not sure of the difference between Universal 40 and Edge 40....

    Installed New Circupool Edge 40

Yikes! That might be too big for me then. I have 18,000 and I run the filter 24/7. Would that go down that low and run 24 hrs? or would I need an external shut off? Or a smaller unit.... LOL.

    Installed New Circupool Edge 40

Shade is hard to come by.... we intentionally put the pool where it would get the most sun.... it looks like you've had it about a year... Still like it? Recommend??

    Installed New Circupool Edge 40

I noticed that the CircuPool EDGE40 Salt Chlorine Generator has an aluminum heat sink on the back. Should it be mounted in total shade to as protect the control box? I'm thinking about one but it would be mounted in 75/25 direct sun.

    Converting Trichlor to Liquid Chlorine

When I was originally going through the thought process of SWG or LCL, I was comparing pumps with this SWG. CircuPool EDGE40 Salt Chlorine Generator Thoughts on this unit? When I put together the cost comparison of each, I estimated some numbers and it looked like over a 6 year window SWG is...

    Converting Trichlor to Liquid Chlorine

Thank you. My electricity is half that at 5 cents. So it looks like 25 cents a day to run. It would run 24/7. If that matters.

    CYA Removal

Makes sense. My winter cover holds water tight... We pump it off.

    Converting Trichlor to Liquid Chlorine

So I'm in the research phase of solving my problem, and I like to keep all options on the table (even if just to learn). When thinking SWG..... I understand I should be looking at something 2X the size of the pool. 18,000 X 2 = 36,000 SWG unit. In comparing ALL costs associated with both...
