I live in Sanger, TX. I just replaced my Pentair 60 DE filter with a cartridge. If you want my old filter for parts, the grids are four years old and are still good. Free, if you want it.

I have the Pentair DE filter which has the same shell. It is 29 years old. I am replacing it to go to a Pentair cartridge filter only because I dislike messing around with DE. The filter housing is still good.

There are not that many reviews for the Crystal Water Filter, so it was easy to see. I ordered the Pentair. Clean & Clear. My existing filter is a 25 year old Pentair DE, so I know what to expect.

Jim, the reviews that I have seen for the Crystal Water are mixed. Some said that the housing cracked. I don’t know if it is common or if they addressed the issue. It is an attractive price if it holds up.

Does anyone have experience with this filter. One person posted a review and said it has a single filter. It is taller than the normal Clean & clear that we are accustomed to. It will take a plumbing change but that was going to happen anyway.

The lot number. Year is 2023. Day 341 is the 341st day of the year, which is December 7th. You need chlorine and you will be using it quickly so I would buy it.

Insulated or bare. Either is acceptable by code, but bare wire makes it easier to visually see a defect.
