Is this a vinyl liner pool? When you are going from a 3.5 depth to a 5’ depth it shouldn’t be too steep imo. The slope (transition from shallow to deep) can only be so steep in order to stay up to code. Regardless, if you can get a look at the pool specs and still felt that it was too steep you...
