Our supplier is extremely backordered on the wide mouth Hayward 1085 skimmers along with our steel panels with wide mouth skimmer cut holes. The salesperson is offering the standard mouth skimmers with corresponding steel panels so that our pool can ship in next two weeks. Otherwise, it could be a few months or more until the wide mouth skimmers are back in stock. Is it worth postponing our pool construction possibly several months to another year just for the wide mouth skimmers? We will have an auto cover, so we shouldn't have too much debris in the pool. Let me know thoughts.
Wide vs Standard Mouth Skimmer - Need Input

I don’t think it’s worth postponing your install to wait for the 1085 wide mouth. I use them on my installs but wouldn’t be against using the 1084. I found some on the internet to get by (more expensive) and just received some from my supplier. With two of the 1084s and a automatic cover , you will be fine.
