    CYA still sitting in filter

Thank you. Yeah, I should have read here before just reading the instructions on the bag. Last time I do that :) I will definitely do the sock method for the rest. I'll just wait until this dissolves first.

    CYA still sitting in filter

I am trying to get my CYA levels up to where they should be and I added 8oz to one skimmer and 8oz to the second skimmer on Monday morning. However, I noticed Monday evening it was sitting in my filter. I attempted to adjust the pump speed up to 3,450 rpms for about 15-20 minutes to agitate it a...

Pool lighting suggestions? Microbrite VS IntelliBrite?

This is good to see because I keep thinking mine might be too dark with 3 in a 20x36 free form.

Pool lighting suggestions? Microbrite VS IntelliBrite?

One thing to keep in mind is that the microbrites have fewer lumens per bulb than intellibrites. I asked the PB to switch from intellibrites to microbrites and then as the build started and they set the lights I realized I almost certainly needed a 3rd light. I'm still in the build process, so I...

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not alone :) Pool is done, they came to measure the liner today, unfortunately the concrete isn't scheduled until the week of September 8th. I was hoping as we wait for the liner we could start on the sod. Grass starts to go into hibernation here around mid...

Curious how others have handled re-doing the yard after it gets destroyed by the build. The pool builders dirt has been pushed over about ~2.5-3k sq ft of my grass or burned it. Do you all just typically re-sod? seed? Just looking for opinions on how others have rebuilt their backyards after the...

    New Build Northwest Arkansas Area

Concrete got poured today. I was in a meeting when they laid the forms for the sun shelf. I think it's a bit too big. I wanted enough room for 2 ledge loungers, so I was thinking about 7.5-8 ft. and a jet-in for the stairs to come out, just like the CAD drawing. Although I want the stairs...

Forms are back up and concrete truck is scheduled for noon on Monday. Is it odd that they don't seem to have the deep end dug out or the sunshelf, or bench formed yet? Sounds like they are planning to do all of that and pour the concrete on Monday. Then I guess it comes to measuring and...

    Liner Delay?

Our builder told us 5ish weeks for delivery of the liner right now. Sounds like they may have been optimistic from listening to everyone else. Good to know.

Well unfortunate update. The city inspection came back all good, but it appears my PB has all but given up on the idea of getting any concrete in my area before August 16th. They just came by to pull up about 2/3rds of the forms for a pool they are building in Oklahoma. My guess is they think...

Form is all set. They said they are waiting on an inspection and then just going to keep calling the concrete company to see if they can get a truck. I guess I did give them some more work via a change order today though. From my reading on here I realized that I only had 1000 lumens of light...

New build in the Nashville area

Is she saying this after seeing the dig or just from seeing the layout? When they spray painted it I thought ours was going to be pretty small too. It looks bigger when they get it framed and you can get down to the pool level to look at it. 25' by 43' seems like it will be a pretty big pool.

Yeah, the rain was crazy. I read it was the most rain ever in Nashville on July 31st and it didn't even start raining until almost 9 PM.

How long is it really taking?

We signed our contract December 17, 2020. They estimated a start date of around October of 2021 and it would take about 5-6 weeks. They just broke ground yesterday, so about 2 months early on the start date, but they are saying it's near impossible to get concrete in our area right now, so while...

It will be. For whatever reason in this area vinyl liner concrete pools are the norm from all the PBers I talked to. The one we went with actually won't even do gunite. We swam in a friends that had one built in 2019 and I actually really liked the liners. It seems they've come a long way from...

They just started digging today. They are saying it's next to impossible to get concrete up here right now though. They are hoping for an 8-9 week build timeframe. Original quote was 6 weeks. They got a lot done on day 1 though. Got our old patio torn out, got the pool and trench dug out and...
