    Permanent stains or fixable?

Pictures don’t do it justice on how dark they are but we had algae that was eradicated and left behind these stains in plaster. No metals in the pool as I’ve tested for that. Is vitamin C tablets best course of action next to try and remove the stains? TIA Balanced pool. Everything within...

Little confused - High TA - FC non existent

Correct - my bad. I did mean chlorine yes. Am I able to add liquid chlorine and muriatic acid at the same time? I plan to add enough chlorine to get to SLAM levels and I will add muriatic acid and aerate with fountain and jets. This is correct?

Little confused - High TA - FC non existent

Hello- have had my pool balanced for a long while and recently was away for 2 days. Pool is 18000 gallons plaster. I added 80oz of liquid CH two days ago. Today I took the TF-100 and tested it all again: According to my TF-100 TA: 110 PH: 7.8 FC: 1 (if that) CYA: 60 if I’m not mistaken -...

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

Thanks for all your help! Looking good just after 24 hours. Will add slightly more stabilizer and call it a day - thank good for the rain. Was able to drain slightly and have the rain fill it. Y’all are the best!

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

UPDATE: Y'all are the best - seriously. Since I love my new T100 test kit, I went ahead and did all the tests this morning (not expecting much to change) but some did. All i added was a galllon of liquid chlorine and 120oz of CYA (still soaking) and continue to run the pump 24/7. Here are the...

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

Got it! I used about 100oz of Leslies granular conditioner. 2 almost full socks in the skimmers now.

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

Last question before I add the chemicals - for the sock soak method, I have a Jandy 580 cartridge filter. Should i still use the sock method? One sock in each skimmer with 60oz of the conditioner? 1 sock with all 120oz of conditioner? or can I just dump it right in the skimmer?

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

I've redone the CH test twice now - 650 and 675. So maybe not as terrible as first imagined. Essentially I will need to add 1 Gal of 10% Liquied Chlorine (no Cal-hypo) and utilize the sock soaking method to raise CYA to 50 and then maintain between 6-8ppm minimum 4ppm.

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

Pool is crystal clear - was filled about a month ago. PB added chemicals 3 weeks ago when I was not here and he has since retired. Im sorta on my own. I know he used acid to start.

UPDATE: FINALLY got the TF-100 and tested... now what?

THANK YOU FOR THE SUGGESTION - Y'ALL ARE AWESOME AND I ALREADY LOVE THE TESTING KIT. With that said- here are the results of my tests. Not sure what to add from here. Chlorine: .5 (if that - not holding Chlorine) PH: 7.8 Calcium Hardness: 750ppm Total Alkalinity: 60 CYA: 0? EDIT: Plaster Pool...

    New to pools

PB finished pool 3 weeks ago. Gave a 1 hour crash course while throwing in a ton of acid and essentially said good luck. Picture is of my water test this morning 3 weeks since PB left. Attempting the stay on top of it. Water is currently decently clear. Leslies recommended to raise the...

    Taking the plunge... (pun intended)

Just needing some (slightly un-needed) confirmation that I’m not crazy. Looking for “what would you do in my situation” answers. Pictures attached are the current plaster. It got done 3 days ago and acid washed and we proceeded to fill it immediately after. As you can see, there’s a (not so...

    Taking the plunge... (pun intended)

Currently filling pool - at this rate and my guesstimate, I believe it should be complete and midway up tile line at approximately 2-4am tomorrow. My question, do I need to stay up or set and alarm to check on it? Or is it ok to overflow? Or should I stop it once it hits bottom of tile line...

    Taking the plunge... (pun intended)

Thank you for this. My builder said they’re leaving the plaster to sit overnight and will acid wash it tomorrow. Is this normal? Almost EVERYTHING I’ve read says to fill the pool immediately.

    Taking the plunge... (pun intended)

As the title states - plaster company came out and plastered Quartzscapes Tahoe Blue. I took some photos of some “worry” areas just to see what y’all thought. Been sunny and 80-90 here all day (just FYI). Are these discolorations down the side and the streaky waves around the sun deck common for...
