    Rust on Outside of Pool

I'm not sure what they could do that would be worth it for us. It would need a whole new side and probably rail and a new pump and filter. That's nearly the whole pool package. It's not under warranty anymore and even if they were willing to replace it, I'm not sure I can muster the labor to put...

    Rust on Outside of Pool

Yes I think it's the 5000 from the pool factory. It's been a huge bummer. My 6 year old cried today as we started emptying the water. I feel terrible having to take it down. It's super frustrating too because we invested in a fair amount of pool stuff anticipating that it would last 10 years and...

That's probably true. We got it in August of 2020.

    Rust on Outside of Pool

The pump gate valve was shut while it was running by my kids which messed it up because it wasn't discovered right away. The seal on the electrical box for the pump was seated crooked and salt water got in it and shorted it out. My husband was able to get it going again but it's kind of...

    Rust on Outside of Pool

I appreciate all of your honesty. The pool is only 3 years old so this is super upsetting. We just bought a robot too. The cost of getting a new filter and pump for a pool that is failing seems unwise at this point. I think we're just going to take it down. My kids are being really cool about...

    Rust on Outside of Pool

If it's a common failure point for the pool, how safe am I to continue to use this thing? At what point does one pull the plug?

    Rust on Outside of Pool

Hi Expert Pool People, Rust has developed on the outside of my pool where the pump and filter are. I'm positive it's from splashes and overfills out the pool outlet for the filter. I know rust is a very bad thing for an above ground pool. How bad is this and what do I do? I'm about to buy a new...

Any Advantage to a combo filter/pump vs separate?

I'm needing to upgrade my existing AquaPro cartridge filter system. When we bought our pool, we just went with a package deal from pool factory and it came with a filter system. My filter housing can no longer lock the filter inside because the tabs inside are broken off from twisting to remove...

    AGP Vacuum and Cake Steps

Right now I think I would end up pretty sick with how green that water is but yes, that would be the plan going forward. Okay so if I do manual vacuuming is there a brand or type that is better than the others?

    AGP Vacuum and Cake Steps

Hello, This is my third season with an AGP. I'm having some issues with the vacuum options. When we got the pool, I got a $100 vacuum that hooks up to the filter and creeps along the bottom with suction. The problem is, it gets stuck on my confer wedding cake steps and stops moving. We switched...

    New AGP sides bowing

Thank you for the reply. It was running a long time. It was a huge puddle of water. It appears the hose flew out shortly after it was put in and it ran for about an hour before we noticed. This isn't the low point of the pool though, just one of the slightly floating spots. Not that that's a...

    New AGP sides bowing

I'm not certain what caused that low spot. My husband says one of the floating spots on the other side of the pool is because the hose flipped out when he was filling it and he thinks it washed some of the soil away. I'm not sure if this is the case but it could be I suppose. Now that it's up...

    New AGP sides bowing

Thank you for the info. I guess it wasn't clear in my post, all the sand was scraped away until it was down to undisturbed earth. The footings were then dug down and installed from there. The DG was brought in as an extra precaution since it's at a low point in my yard. It wasn't a lot of DG...

    New AGP sides bowing

Here's what I think happened, I think I have either sinkage along the leanout part or the pool was out of round slightly and has caused it to slightly lean to one side. I apparently have two spots around the pool where pavers have sunk but it's not the low spot (weirdly) or next to each other so...

That's what's weird. The unsupported part is not the lean out. I didn't even realize there were unsupported parts until I went to check after your post.

    New AGP sides bowing

Yes, there are two of the pavers that aren't holding up the track because it appears they sank a little under the weight of the pool.

    New AGP sides bowing

It's leaning out. That's the problem. It's leaning outward in the lowest spot. I don't know that it's exactly a bulge. It's more like that section of the wall is leaning outward. It's not necessarily towards the top or bottom, just that side of the pool. Sorry if I'm not doing a good job to...

    New AGP sides bowing

Ok two of the pavers seem to have sunk a little and the rail on the paver and slightly to each side isn't touching the ground. Oddly enough, this isn't where it's bulging or at a low point. The only indication is the floating paver that I noticed as I walked by. The third floating boot is solid...

    New AGP sides bowing

It's on the section to the right of where the ladder is. It's the lowest spot is where it's bulging which makes sense. Could it be because it's out of round that I'm having this issue? Obviously there could be some settling but this is a LOT of settling. The ground was scraped and leveled and...

I would feel better about that too. My husband is going to check with a putty knife and make sure it's good.

    New AGP sides bowing

I can't get the ruler any further under the pool so I'm assuming that the track is good. I'll go out and check it again to be sure. I put the ruler to just touch the surface of the water and measured against the bottom of the top rail. Should I be doing it a different way?

    New AGP sides bowing

Thank you so much for responding. I went out and did some more measuring and found it was about 1.75" off at the worst spot. I'm doing my best to measure from the outside of the pool. I could probably get a more accurate reading if I was inside it. There are three of the boots that appear to be...
