Recommendation Needed: Best Vinly Pool Liner small Hole Patch

In Ground Pool. In my profile pic - it is in the bottom left corner. Just a small hole -- tiny tear about 1/3 - 1/2 inch diameter. Not generally submerged - close to the top of the pool. Probably only gets submerged after massive amounts of rain. Nowhere near in or outflows. Think my dog might...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

Watched a video about replacing the union -- saw my new parts were almost here -- had a slight Eureka moment -- took the union apart and realized some dope [it was me] did not use Teflon tape. I laced her up -- lubed up the o-ring - closed it up -- and hit go. First time it started up without...

I knew I was Pool Stored when...

I knew it AFTER this all happened... Normally -- the people in my local "________" chain are pretty darn good, as far as I can tell - rarely convince me to buy anything and usually give me good advice. But there was a different guy in there -- he seems like an "old pro" He tested my water and...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

Thanks -- just ordered it. In the meantime - gonna try and run with the filtration to the extent I can get the kids in the pool this weekend. Interestingly - when I went to Amazon -- it seems I ordered this before... in 2022 I was a younger man then - and prone to mistakes. I wonder if I...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

I am willing to die on this hill -- filter is finally filtering! This spot - I believe is what I need to replace once and for all. I did everything above -- and it's working. BUT - it's sucking air in every 30 seconds or so -- EXCEPT when I flood the connection below. Which looks old and nasty...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

Just replaced the 2 "Screws" at the bottom of the pump. Re-teflon taped. Gave it all a spin on Filter -- nothing. Tried covering the strainer with water from the hose. Nothing happened. Ordered some Magic Lube II Gonna try and put the old strainer lid back on after I clean it up and...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

OK -- just took apart the entire DE Filter -- cleaned and spiffed and spit shined and re-lubed and put it back together. Then came inside - so haven't done anything else yet.

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

I read it. I am sad to say I have patiently tried all of it. I am even sadder to say I have reached out to a few pool companies for help. I am sure I will pay $250 for them to come and find an issue in 10 minutes -- but my patience has worn out. I failed.

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

I have not read it in a long time -- I'll go find it and re-read. I do not think I am overtightening it -- I don't think I'm that strong! :) I just replaced the o-ring -- it's brand new. I just replaced the clear part of the lid -- also brand new -- as in 24-48 hours old. I did all the steps...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

Yea - I agree. But how? I need a magic bullet to figure it out -- as you can see above... I have tried a few different things. Gonna try and refit the lid on again today.

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

It started pouring and I did not have a chance yet -- but for context -- air in my strainer has been an issue for years -- as far as I can tell it was that way when I moved in. So I am skeptical this will help -- BUT as soon as I can - I will dismantle and reconnect everything tomorrow. By the...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

So -- we might be getting somewhere... The pressure side: I have a return at my pool steps which is like a geyser while in recirculation mode. I have a second return across on the other side of my shallow end - and sometime last year, it stopped pushing water out down to a trickle. [in any...

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

Did it all - might have to try again -- but it didn't work. Same problem. Still am able to get suction with Waste and / or Recirculate after pouring water from the hose onto the Strainer Lid -- but not when set to Filter. I even put on a brand new clear lid. It felt so snug. I'm so sad.

How to diagnose where a leak is [air suction]?

For all who read my previous odyssey -- that much is finally behind me. To my dismay -- I am only able to get my pump going on Recirculate -- and only after soaking it with a hose all over the Strainer Cover. Once it starts rolling - the outflow is nothing short of powerful. However - every...

Tips For Removing Rotted Spider Gasket Please

After reading some old threads here -- and some googling elsewhere -- I am guessing this is just going to be a labor of love [hate] But then I had an idea... Am I crazy? What if I hit it with my pressure washer?

Tips For Removing Rotted Spider Gasket Please

Now that I [think] my new Jandy Valve is ready to go... I am trying with a lot of elbow grease to remove the bad Spider Gasket inside my Vari-Flow Valve. It seems like it will never come out -- and I do not want to simply try to muscle it out and risk cracking something in there. I have tried...

Jandy Valve -- it's Broken but why do I need to replace it?

It's been a long day -- but done. Only spent about $2 that I have to return. Won't be testing it until tomorrow. Still waiting for Spider Gasket Adhesive [Scroll up this thread for my "before" photo] Oh -- the PVC Cement Bandit was me... most of which I applied angrily in frustration a couple...

Jandy Valve -- it's Broken but why do I need to replace it?

Got my new Jandy Valve -- ordered the bigger one of the 2 and turns out the old one is the smaller openings -- but I guess it's fine. Just got back from Home Depot with a ton of PVC and some cement -- I'm nervous to make the first cuts -- but ultimately gotta bite the bullet. Kids are all home...

Jandy Valve -- it's Broken but why do I need to replace it?

I just ordered a new 3-way Jandy arriving tomorrow. Once it arrives - I'll got to get the PVC and install it. In the meantime - I went out to add chemicals after the 4 hours was up -- and noticed that despite my pump being on Recirculation it drained out to the street. I opened the vari-flow...
