I added 1 oz of stabilizer...was scared to add to much. truth it really is a pain to go up and down the stairs to add bleach daily.

What do you think about using 1" chlorine tablets instead of constant bleach? Sounds a lot easier especially when you live on the second floor ;)

So I just filled my seasonal pool with water yesterday. Obv there's no chlorine there now, so I added bleach to bring it up to 12 in the evening and ran the filter overnight. Now I'm confused- did I need to bring the level so high is it was a fresh fill? How long should I keep the filter...

Hi all, We have a small seasonal pool that gets closed up and packed away each season. Last summer I sprinkled cornstarch on the vinyl to absorb any moisture over the year and now that I'm ready to build the pool again....how do I clean off all that cornstarch!!

Hi! We are taking apart our pool for the winter and wanted to know if I should be doing something to the liner before packing it up. Do I need to spray it down with a bleach cleaner or something in order to prevent mold? Of course I know it should be perfectly dry. Thanks for your help!

Oh, I misunderstood your question. I did add CYA, and adjusted ph as needed. I thought you asked just about chlorine.

the hth 6 way test kit. it wasn't slippery before, but I sure hope you're right! I was adding liquid bleach as per the pool math calculator, but I'm starting to think a 1" chlorine tablet will be easier...

is it horrible if I don't have a skimmer? the one I bought gives us more issues than it's worth... I don't think it's currently doing anything.

ok ok i ordered the test kit. was out of stock on all the sites except for eBay....for double the price. and that is a good point about the buying chemicals... levels are definitely off though. my kids said the bottom of the pool is slippery. algae after a week?! I'm beginning to regret this...

I don't really know what to think of these test strips honestly...it keeps saying my CYA is high when a few tests ago it said it was fine and I didn't add any CYA. Also half my pool mysteriously emptied out so I pretty much drained and refilled half of my pool....and it's still saying CYA is high.

Hi, My alkalinity keeps sky rocketing... pool math calculator says to lower the ph and aerate the pool. I have no idea what to do! Any ideas?

You're right. I assumed. Goodness there is a lot to learn. So I can now test and adjust ph. wait 15 minutes if I needed to lower ph and then add enough bleach to raise the level to 4ppm. Correct? And then they can swim right after I add the bleach?

Ahh now I'm confused. I'll add the stabilizer to the skimmer in a sock. And wait how long until I slam the pool with chlorine?

Yes 600 gallon. It's a small pool for the kids. Let's see if I can find a 5 gallon bucket...sounds like an easier method.

Hi all, I have a small 600 gallon pool that I am setting up for the first time. How long do I need to wait between adding stabilizer (I have the clorox brand) and the chlorine? Also, I read something about putting the stabilizer into a sock and not directly into the water?? Can someone explain...
