integrated light in filter return and winterizing

I linked the light in my post, but I will update with pics when I can. Yes, I am talking about the line from the pump back to the pool. It has a light built into it.

integrated light in filter return and winterizing

I have a Pentair light that is integrated into my filter return. If I drain the water 6 inches below as pool school says do I still need to remove the light?

    Filter hose alternative

I will look into skimmer socks. Thanks. In the spring everything is yellow with pollen. This is our grill every year. also my neighbors are going to have their house repointed so there is going to be a massive amount of mortar dust. I was thinking of getting a super cheap winter cover for...

    Filter hose alternative

Last change of DE included me hosing off the fingers, I was right at 14PSI and after adding the DE it didn't go to 15. In the last week the pressure has risen to 17 psi without bumping it. But I will bump it tomorrow morning before the pump kicks on. When my pressure hits about 20 there is a...

    Filter hose alternative

Single speed 1.5 HP Hayward pump I have gotten the pressure down to 14-15 psi range with a hard plumbed return and cleaning of the filter fingers. I will probably go with a dual speed pump once this pump goes bad. I don't know when is best to run pump, but I run mine from 1 to 7 PM since...

    Filter hose alternative

Water is Always crystal clear. I cleaned my filter tonight. I took top off and hosed fingers, they were dirty. I turned pump on with no DE and had a pressure of 14. I weighed out the DE this time instead of relying on scoop size. I put about 3 lb, 14 oz in. Just under the recommended 4...

    Filter hose alternative

I have a 6 foot hose for my pool filter inlet. It is only about 1.5 feet from the filter to the pump. I am having hight pool filter pressure issues (16 psi with new de, and noticeable return pressure drop at 20 psi). It was suggested to shorten this hose and the return line. Return line is good...

    Hayward ec40 filter pressure

I have a Hayward ec40 filter and my starting pressure with it was 16 PSI. The manual says to bump around 7-10 psi increase. But when it gets to 20 PSI in about a week there is a noticeable drop in return water. I am guess that the increased pressure is due to the pool coming with a return...

can I plug the hole on my skimmer lid?

This hole on top of my skimmer lid splashes out an amazing amount of water while the kids are swimming. Is there an issue with plugging or covering this hole? Or am I seeing more water come out of it then there really is?

round AGP is going in tomorrow and friend suggested making center deeper

Haha, I know. The pool store had to give me someone else’s liner with a late summer install since mine is going in now. There are no pools and even less liners.

round AGP is going in tomorrow and friend suggested making center deeper

18' I don't know what brand pool it is, but I believe it has a bead liner. I figured I won't get 6 inches, but maybe an inch or two in the center.

round AGP is going in tomorrow and friend suggested making center deeper

My friend suggested making the center of the pool a few inches deeper than the rest of the pool. Kind of bowl it out instead of having a flat bottom. He said it will give more depth for bigger kids and the dirt will naturally settle there for easier cleaning. Any Thoughts? I am afraid...

New pool going up before season, should I winterize?

Our new above ground pool is getting installed in April (Southwest Pennsylvania). It will be about 4-6 weeks before I would want to open for the season. Should I winterize it for a few weeks or should I just open the pool and keep close to shock level until I am ready? We might have a...

    Cleaning Intex pool around frame

With my Intex pool there is always algae and dirt around the loop that the frame goes through. Does anyone have a effective method to clean this and keep the algae at bay? Luckily I don't have an algae problem inside the pool, but when we swim dirt comes from this into the pool.

    Aglae or Pollen

would an abundance of pollen cause a high chlorine use? I add about 2-3 cups of bleach in a day. It does drop over night but not a lot. 7,000 gallon pool.

    Aglae or Pollen

We do have pollen everywhere, it just seems to be so much more in the pool, but as I have been thinking about it, the pollen might be collecting on the solar cover, and with the storm all dumping into the pool. I have been at SLAM level or higher for over 2 days now. I have been vacuuming...

    Aglae or Pollen

We have a yellow dusting over everything. All Spring into the early summer. If this helps this is the 3rd time this summer that we have had this problem with the pool. All three times came after 3 or more days without swimming and a heavy storm. So I can't tell if it is the storm dumping...

    Aglae or Pollen

So I had a light covering of yellowy sediment on bottom of pool. The water was crystal clear. This was 2 days after a heavy storm with no swimming. We live in a high pollen area of south western Pennsylvania. The kids swam in the pool. A huge cloud of green formed throughout the pool, the...
