Yes. Especially at that price point. Its one of the big reasons why I didn't pre-order.

    Pool robot woes

So the controlled lab environment for salt, humidity and heat testing must have been submerged. This is their updated response when I expressed my concern about extended multi-weeks above 85% humidity. AquaSense Pro can operate normally and be stored in this humidity

The concerns we've uncovered so far have to do with the very limited warranty and replacement parts outside of the warranty period which is very concerning given the price point.

    Pool robot woes

I got a non-answer to my question about if the testing numbers cited on their web site were submerged or out of the water. All they would tell me is it was tested in a "controlled lab setting for accelerated corrosion testing". I've asked again as this would be a show stopper in the south if...

    Pool robot woes

Afraid I don't know the answer to either of these questions. The lifespan, heat, humidity and salt numbers are what they post on the endurance testing section of the web site. I'll follow up and get clarification. I'm in Florida too so 85% humidity is concerning as that's not an uncommon...

Added some additional rows to the table in the post above. The battery capacity is puzzling because the Blue Nexus (if it really has a 28.6Ah battery) has 1/3rd the battery life of the BeatBot. Item BeatBot Pro BeatBot Blue Nexus Battery Capacity 10,400 mAh 6,700 mAh 28,600 mAh (unsure if...

How long a warranty would you expect for a robot in this category? Beatbot actually posts testing/longevity for various components. Can this info be found for other robots? Water Pump: 5+ years Battery: 3+ years Buttons: 100k presses Heat: Up to 122F Humidity: 85% Salt: 168 hours For sure...

I've also got a comparison table for the three models (BeatBot, BeatBot Pro and Blue Nexus) that I'm using to capture info so I can make a decision. If you're interested, I could post that info here. Something interesting I noticed. Although the BeatBot isn't officially released, the Android...

New pool cleaner for Katodude to review

There are some details about the BeatBot Aquasense Pro or SuBlu BlueNexus that aren't provided on either web site so I emailed both companies. Beatbot consistently responded within 24 hours to my emails (even weekends!). Four emails total. I've not received any response from SuBlu after four...

    Pool robot woes

Very much appreciate your insight @gadgetlady. Couple points to consider, The Blue Nexus retail is $1399 which is actually more expensive than the low end retail price of Beatbot AquaSense (and considerably above its pre-order price) The Blue Nexus retail of $1399 is not far away from the...

Looks like the kickstarter/indigogo campaign is over and their normal price is ~$1400. What was the kickstarter cost? Also, do you know if the battery is replaceable?

    Manual Vac Hose Recommendations

I store it outside, but its in a covered area w/no sun exposure. I've not had issues with the hose material, but rather the ends cracking (typically the swivel end that connects to the vacuum head). The last hose, the end just detached itself/broke.

Yes, I gave it serious consideration, but then I saw the stories of failures after a couple of years.

    Manual Vac Hose Recommendations

I've been unhappy with the quality of vacuum hoses I've purchased at Home Depot/Lowes etc. They tend to fail at the swivel end (cracks, breaks etc.). Pool store hoses don't seem much better (just more expensive). I'm hoping to find something of higher quality. I've seen the i-Helix hose...

    Fine Mesh Leaf Skimmer Recommendation

I ended up getting the 13" flat. Build quality is excellent and its picking up extremely small gnats and junk from the neighbor's black olive tree that my old skimmer never picked up. Will update this thread in a few weeks after longer term usage. So far, very happy with the purchase. Thanks...

    Fine Mesh Leaf Skimmer Recommendation

Thanks for the recommendation! What I like about that skimmer is the net is replaceable like the Oreq solution. How long have you had it? Can it be used to pick up fine stuff at the bottom of the pool also?

    Fine Mesh Leaf Skimmer Recommendation

I saw the DK Hardware link prior to posting my question, but I was unsure if they were a reliable retailer. Does anyone have experience with them? My use case is fine debris from my neighbor's black olive tree that accumulates pretty quickly that's why I was looking for a skimmer. I don't...

    Fine Mesh Leaf Skimmer Recommendation

    RPM value for Autopilot SWG

Over the past couple days, as the pump/filter have run, the minimum RPM for the Autopilot SWG has decreased. Its now around 1175 rpm (very close to the 1100rpm where it was prior to me cleaning the filter). Is it possible that sand or something similar got introduced when I took out the...
