    Hot tub not heating

Ok. Balboa controls use 2 temp sensors to determine everything. So anything that causes disparate temp readings can cause many different errors. Typically, high temps at the heater are the result of insufficient flow through the heater. The heater turns on and rapidly boils the water in it...

    New Hottub Board

The 501 and 510 are able to operate more stuff than the 500. Verify that your topside is compatible and it should be fine. I recommend a full control system, rather than just replacing the board. You get a new heater, sensors, and topside for less than you'd spend on them individually, and you...

Do the lights on the circuit board also go on/off?

    Heater terminal melted circuit board

Heat built up on the circuit. Could have started at the main terminal, heater terminal, or relay, but once it got hot enough to melt solder it will burn everything. Could have been a heater short with a faulty gfci breaker too.

    Heater terminal melted circuit board

I would recommend you compare prices between the circuit board and heater and a new control system. You might find you can get the complete system for around the same $ as buying the two parts separately.

    Hot Tub tripping breaker

Could be. Do you know the size of the wire to the spa? Nevermind, I see you got it figured out.

Localised itching on back - from the jets?

I get itchy back from bromine spas, and it is related to the jets. Enough to drive you nuts. Try using the tub without the jets and see if you react.

    Suddenly overwhelmed with my Spa

Have you called your sundance dealer? You have surpassed the average lifespan of your ozone generator. Perhaps that is causing you some issues.

Hot tub cover replacement not 3 years old

The "moisture barrier" is worth it. If you are in cold climate I recommend a 5" taper. If you get heavy snow get the denser foam.

    Hot tub issue

High ph causes dissolved solids to come out of solution, causing scale and stains, depending on what's in the water. A sand-paper feel is the beginning of scale.

    Hot tub not heating

Post pics of circuit board, wiring diagram, and equipment area. If I had to guess, I'd say flow restriction (dirty filter, bad pump, etc).

Sorry I missed you, had spinal fusion surgery. Glad you got it figured out.👍

Replaced spa pack with Balboa BP7. Spa is set-up for 240, but the pump is 115v. How do I get it to provide just the pump with 115?

Post pics of the inside of the control box cover and circuit board. Pump voltage is usually changed by physically moving the pump common connection on the circuit board.

Hot tub cover replacement not 3 years old

Rare in the extreme for any brand. Chemical damage. Same for your cover. Leaving the cover open for 30 minutes after adding chems can postpone the inevitable, but it's still inevitable. D1 used to be among my top brands, but at some point they moved manufacturing overseas and the quality went...

    What does this test mean?

You're fighting yourself. Balance ph, see where alk lands. If it's over 50, you're fine. Aeration raises ph. Turn off air control valves when not in use.

    Control Replacement

The minimum flo rate of a spa heating/circulation system is determined primarily by the heater. Higher kw needs higher flow rate to avoid overheat in the heater housing. There are low-flow systems available, just google "low-flow spa controller". Most aftermarket systems offer heater options...

    Powerful jets

Ok. Hot springs uses 2 densities of spray foam, has non-removeable sides, and a complex plumbing system. He's gotten repair estimates that start with 4 figures and end with question marks. I would take this tub, but I wouldn't pay for it.

    Powerful jets

Ideally, bring a swimsuit and get in it. Especially if you are unusually small or large. You'll hate it if you buy a tub and don't fit right in the contoured seats or get pushed out by the jets.

Spa leaks internally when jets are turned on

That depends heavily on your water chemistry, but I'd say you're above average there to get 8 years out of them. They can last many more, but few do.

Sundance Cameo 880 breaker trips when heater plugged in

Ok. If it's the heater shorting to ground the gfci trips immediately, since one leg is on as soon as the spa gets power. It's probably not the heater. The ozone/uv will often have a time delay after start-up, used to be 10 minutes on certain controls. Breakers with loose connections can cause...

    Powerful jets

Ebay? Look, as a guy who rebuilds used spas I can tell you that if you see it hot and running and not leaking everywhere you're likely good. But go look at it, don't buy unseen. There will be extras. Covers are usually in pretty bad shape, cabinets need refinishing or repair, pumps leak a...

Spa leaks internally when jets are turned on

That is the highest pressure in that pump system. It could be a blockage blowing the seals, but more likely it's just bad heater gaskets or loose unions. Do you have good flow at the jets? The black pieces on the ends of the heater are threaded fittings and can loosen over time. Try tightening...

    Powerful jets

Ok. How "powerful" a jet is or is not is determined by a number of variables that can change even between models of a given brand. Generally speaking, higher hp pumps with big plumbing and few jets will be most "powerful" (a factor of flow rate more than pressure). But alot of smaller jets can...

Since Spring in starting in the US ...

It's worse for running tubs as they provide warmth and usually some water too. Anything that can get in there will make it a home. I've found mice, chipmunks, squirrels, racoons, snakes, huge spiders, even bird nests.

    Gfci clicking, motor pulsing

Likely either a short or a bad gfci. Unplug, disconnect equipment (heater, pump, blower, ozone, etc) one at a time, then plug in to isolate the fault. Cord-end GFCIs are notorious for problems. If you can, get rid of it. Any water on electrical components can cause a short and gfci trip, and...

    Different size spa jet fittings

So, the venturi is not working but you have water flow? Yes, one jet can flood the venturi (air) lines. The vacuum created on the air line does not care where it gets pressure relief from, so if it has an open port in water it will pull from there too. However that usually results in some air...
