Gauge doesn’t go back to zero when turned off

That was it. Thanks for help. I had assumed that since the gauge was so new that it wouldn’t have been the gauge.

Gauge doesn’t go back to zero when turned off

I have a relatively new Hayward sand filter. It has worked fine for the last six months. Recently I have noticed that the pressure gauge does not return to zero when turned off (reads around 17 psi when turned off), and the running psi is now higher than normal (around 33 psi). Wondering if you...

    New vinyl liner floating

Appreciate the advice. The owner has told me that the cost to put in a sump pump would exceed the cost of the pool. I’m not sure where he is getting his information, but I don’t see how that can be true. Any idea what the least expensive option would be to help prevent the liner from floating...

    New vinyl liner floating

I am renting a home that has a 36,000 gallon vinyl liner pool. The liner was replaced around a year ago by the owner. Just around a month later, the liner started to float quite significantly after rains and subsequently left very large creases. I informed the owner, but his reaction was...

    New vinyl liner floating

The owner knew about it since he told me it happened with the old liner. The pool company did attempt to seal the cracks in the cement. Wondering if sealing cracks is a solution to preventing ground water from getting in, or is a sump pump always needed?

    New vinyl liner floating

We moved in a little over a year. The new liner was in stalled shortly after we moved in and it started to float a few months after the install. It has floated about 4-5 times since then.

    New vinyl liner floating

We are renting a house that has a 36,000 gallon vinyl liner pool. The liner was replaced by a professional pool company and shortly after the liner started to float pretty bad after hard rains (I’m assuming due to groundwater). I’m wondering if the pool company has any liability with this...

New water fill in vinyl liner pool

Pool is up and running. Appreciate the assistance so far! I am pretty surprised at how much liquid chlorine will be needed on a daily basis. Using pool math, if my CYA is 40 and (from what I’ve read a pool can fluctuate 2-4ppm / day) if I need to raise FC by 4 ppm, that’s over a gallon of 10%...

New water fill in vinyl liner pool

pH= 7.8 TA=120 CH= ? (I’ll be getting reagent to test on Tuesday). Does it matter the order? First adjust pH? Then CYA? Then add chlorine? I attached some screen shots from pool math as far as what it recommends I add to SLAM. Thanks! Appreciate your help!

New water fill in vinyl liner pool

Hello! I have a 36,000 gallon vinyl liner pool. The liner will be replaced shorty and I’m wondering what are the recommended steps in which to start modifying the water chemistry? I plan I’m using liquid chlorine. I have read the ABC’s of pools and the Pool School book (very helpful and thank...

    Increase pump suction

“it appears you have a vacuum port on the side wall of your pool”. Yes, this is correct. Thank you for the advice. I’ll give it a try.

I just moved in, but Ive attached the cleaner hose to the vacuum port closest to the pump (the skimmer is on the far side of the pool).
