    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Thanks again myazpool! I was thinking about the scheduling and just having an overlapping schedule last night after I wrote this. I definitely like the systems when running but again completely with the pentair language translation issues. They could greatly improve their product and people's...

IC60 gives weird errors when starting up

Myazpool thanks! I am referring to the intellicenter messages. I figured out the blinking light thing the first day but was definitely annoyed by the messages. Hopefully they figure it out.

    Pentair IntelliCenter Review and Information

Couple quick intellicenter questions. I just installed everything and am trying to figure out programming. First of all I only have the return and intake valves so I am assuming that I don't need to creative feature circuits for them since you just use the built in pool or spa circuits right...

IC60 gives weird errors when starting up

Hey Everyone, I have newly installed IC60 with intellicenter controlling it. I finally got my salt levels up to the needed level a few days ago so i turned on the salt cell and once its running it seems to produce chlorine just fine but I keep getting alerts that the salt is too low when it...

    Intellicenter programming

Thanks I will give that a try. Wish they clearly identified what each of the setting did and what the preprogrammed circuits do.

    Intellicenter programming

Yes I have the intellichlor wired to the pump relay. And I want to make chlorine whenever the pump is running but for some reason in the program i made for the booster pump to run, the pool pump and booster both turn on but it doesn't turn the intellichlor on. Do I have to add the pool feature...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks Mknauss! I guess I will get the SWG dialed in now. Any idea how long and what level I should start at? I have just shy of 40k gallons and the IC60 that puts out 2lbs per at 24hr runtime. Also forgive my ignorance but what is CSI? I have not heard it mentioned and don't recall seeing it...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Ok so an update and a few questions. Here is my current levels https://troublefreepool.com/mypool/wnoy3jz FC has been slowly coming down from high SLAM levels. Pool was completely clear until today when I vacuumed the bottom and kicked up stuff that had settled. I have been adding MA to bring...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks Kim. It is almost completely filled so I am going to start running it soon. Can I leave the salt cell in but turned off until the salt is good or do I have to get one of those dummy cells till its ready?

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Ok everyone, I finally finished the full upgrade. New pump, redone sand filter with multiport, swcg, and new valves and plumbing to hook everything up, all controlled by a intellicenter. I also drained the majority of the pool and it is refilling now. Once it's full what should I do first? I...

Never mind. I just switched to desktop mode and now I can see other people's signature and was able to turn my info on as well. I didn't see the option when viewing in phone mode.

I don't see any additional info on anyone's post. But I am on a phone and don't currently have a desktop computer. I filled out the info by clicking ony name but I have never seen it show up anywhere.

Thanks Kim, hopefully you saw my old info. I had not updated since I was in the middle of an install. Should finish equipment this week and will start draining and refilling pool.

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

It's a large L shaped pool. Main rectangle is 18x40 and 3.5-9.5ft deep. Small L is a square 12x12 3ft deep. I am shocked the CYA got so high. Pool was emptied last year so I had no idea it could get so high so quick.

I am in the process of installing a swcg so I will be adding salt and starting to use that very soon.

Like drain the whole pool and refill? Or just partial? The pool is nearly 40k gallons so it would be a substantial amount of work to completely drain and refill

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Ok everyone, quick update. I finally got all my parts and have been installing over the past few days. I am nearly done. I also got a test kit and tested everything. Hopefully I did everything right. Here is a link to my numbers if I understand the poolmath app correctly...

Thanks that is good to know especially if I come up with an issue. I am still doing the wiring so hopefully once I finish it will go smoothly.

Thanks Jim. I guess I can try and go without check valve and see what happens

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thank unfortunately I already ordered the 8 relay setup. I even called pentair and they could not definitively tell me that I can upgrade from the 5 to the 8 or 10 later. It was only 200 extra so not a big deal, but annoying that the manufacturer tech support was clueless

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

I was only planning on the one check valve on the return line and had room between heater and swcg so I figured it was a good place to put it. I was under the impression that I needed at least one to help prevent water draining back into the pool when the system is off. If there is a better...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Also @Jimrahbe are you saying I shouldn't have a check valve at all in the whole system?

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks Jim. Honestly I only duplicated the existing setup and there was a check valve after the heater before the return valve so I figured it was needed. Old system would drain down but that could have been because of the bad pump or malfunctioning valves. As for the CB I used the same as the...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Hey everyone, Ordered a bunch of stuff and most of it finally came in, so I have started the plumbing and automation makeover. I did learn that although it seems like you can buy the 5 relay intellicenter and upgrade to an 8 or 10 later, no one seems to know what the part numbers for the...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks. I am waiting for a test kit to arrive and then I plan on verifying everything so I can calculate using the system. I will definitely check out inyopools thanks. I have been getting intellicenter quotes, does anyone know if you can order the 5 relay and then add a daughter board if you...

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks I can probably get someone to assist with the install for warranty purposes. Looks like I am buying a bunch of pentair stuff. Any recommendations for best online retailers price wise? I heard polytec pools might be a good source but if you have other recommendations I would appreciate it

New to me pool, lots of work to be done.

Thanks Splashpad! If I am interested in automation on some level but also DiY what brand would you recommend then? Part of me wonders if the warranty issues are that important or not. Just hard to know what's best given the wide range of choices. Plus I don't want to buy one brand then find out...

Is it better to start dividing up my questions into the topic areas? Like putting plumbing questions in the appropriate sub forum?
