Intex Robot getting stuck in corner

Im looking for some suggestions on keeping Intex robot from getting stuck like Austin Powers between my pool wall and Confer 7200 pool ladder. Last year I tried to zip tie 1 1/2" PVC 45 degree off the base of ladder but the robot eventually jumps the PVC.

High CYA - how much to drain

This may be a silly question, so I apologize if it seems elementary: I have CYA of 90. I've confirmed this with 5 tests on different days. I screwed up with sanitizer when I opened the pool. To ball park the drain amount, is it simply a solution %? To drop from CYA of 90 down to CYA of 45, do I...

Need advice on leveling and water runoff

Im a dirt guy. Clay likes to swell but relatively stay put depending on silt content. 4" is a lot of slope across such a small pool. I would make level with lowest point. Target +/- 1". It looks like you have a driveway above the pool. Concrete runoff velocity and coefficient can cause a lot of...

Help cool my pool (90F+ water temps)

Im in south Louisiana. Daytime temps are mid to upper 90s and 50-60% humidity. Nightime is low 80s and 90%+ humidity. Pool is 15x48 Intex so on the small size and direct sun from 8am until 4pm. Pump size is not an issue, 2600gph. I have hooked up a DIY PVC fountain but I cant get below 87 deg...

    AGP Depth - 54" vs 48"

This thread has taken a different turn but just another aspect: I chose 48" because max water height is 42" which is a classification dividing line for NEC (and many local building) codes. I wanted to remain classified as a storable (temporary) pool to have less strict code requirements. There...

Need opinions on plumbing for new sand filter

Why two pump discharges and only one intake(skimmer)? Am I seeing that correctly? I have similar setup, 15'x48" with 16" 2450gph pump. Im using the over the rail skimmer not through wall. I have one pump discharge and two intakes... the over the rail skimmer and side inlet. The side inlet is...

Intex Hard Plumb - Air Jet Valve

I too had trouble finding exactly what to use. Suprising on such a helpful forum when it seems the Hayward is so popular. First off, I couldn't find that the SP1023 is a standard wall fitting. It is used for inlets and outlets. So buy 3! The Hayward SP1026 is the grate for outlet aka pump...

Intex Hard Plumb - Air Jet Valve

Im almost completely finished with Intex sand pump and filter hard plumb. My two pool outlets (to pump) are Hayward SP1023 fittings. My one pool inlet (from pump) is currently the Intex threaded with eyeball jet. It has an air jet valve which all I can tell is an aerator for the jet. Im...

Intex Ultra Frame rusted out in one year

I will take detailed photos of the Prism Frame components this weekend. The insides are definitely not coated. Is there any concern with all of the silicone tape wrapping that moisture remains trapped inside? Should I attempt to coat the inside of the pipes?

Intex Ultra Frame rusted out in one year

My Prism Frame pool just came in. My weekend project is to apply some sort of rust prevention to the parts. Is silicone tape the preferred way to start or is something else recommended for bare/new/unassembled parts?

    Pump too big?

Complete newbie here. I will be setting up a Intex Prism 14'x48". I hit the sale on the Intex Sand Pump. I accidentally got the SF60110-2 (16") rated at 3000gph with maximum system rate of 2450gph. I do plan on using a robot vacuum. Is this large pump going to be a problem for me?
