My dang 920 went out again..finally outside of warranty. This is my 4th one in five seasons. A complete piece of junk.
Took it in for service, turns out this time it's not the robot but the actual power supply. This time around, the Prower works fine...until it needs to go up one of the walls...
Afternoon poolers.
I am on my third Pentair Dolphin 920. These things keep messing up, and of course now I am out of warranty.
This latest one worked all last season and about a month into this season. Here's the weird thing. The last two ended up with the same issue: I'd turn it on and it...
Hey all. Here's the final update. Sorry for the delay. I took a quick 10 day jaunt to the Dominican Republic for a well-needed vacation, and then have been buried in work since I got back. Highly recommend the DR, if you ever looking into a vacation destination.
Electric Company sent out...
For sure. Just sounds like this guy didn't really know what he was doing, or at best, just decided to wing it rather than even look at the installation instructions that I left him.
As someone earlier posted, I'm betting it'll be way easier just to install the 120v timer that I just bought...
Called electric company. Owner is not pleased with what I described. Will be there Monday morning first thing (he offered right now, but I'm at work and can't get out of here until 6 at the earliest) to check it over and make sure it's all set up correctly and making chlorine. Will post outcome...
Yea, that's what I'm doing. I had to startup with LC until the pool temp got above 65 degrees, and that's what I have been using in the past. I ran down to Menards and snagged another 7 gallons to hold me off. Thanks man.
All right. I ran down to Home Depot and bought the 120v version of that timer. So I will call that electrician tomorrow and see what’s up.
I did also notice that the bonding lug on the control unit wasn’t used so that will be something I bring up as well. Installion instructions say that it...
So..I can now assume that my timer is wired for 120v. How to fix?
Do I:
1) Buy a new timer. One for 120v. Call electrician to redo. Return 240v timer.
2) Crack open CircuPool Controller. Install jumpers for 120v.
3) Keep 240v timer, Controller already wired for 240v, but electrician has it...
Timer off, Black on ground, red on 1 read 0. Black on ground, red on 3 read 123. Timer on, supplying power to control box, black on ground, red on 2 read 0, black on ground, red on 4 was 124. Sounds like my 240 timer is wired for 120.
I just have it on all the time right now, as I'm running my pump 24/7 since I just opened it. I have not noticed the timer clock turning at all, but the silver on/off slider switch definitely supplies power to the SWG control box.
Timer was brand new. I bought it to run SWG since my Pentair pump is a VSP.
I have a multimeter. I’ll read the instructions today and figure out how to use it then get back here with the readings after work today.
Gotcha. Well, I am stumped on why mine isn’t working correctly. I guess tomorrow I’ll crack open the module and see where those jumpers are installed at on mine.
I don’t know how mine would be running 240 if it’s hooked up to a former outlet. But again, I know nada about wiring and electric.
Thanks. I actually referred to your post in my initial research into SWG.
So are those jumpers in your timer box or inside the actual CircuPool control box? I def don't see anything like those jumpers in my timer box.
You're telling me. 18, 17, 16, 15. Two boys, two girls. All but one over 6' and in constant sports, mainly competitive swim. My grocery bill is going to take a breath here in about four months when two of them leave the nest. Summer off school may put me into the poorhouse though.
And here is what you asked for.
You can find the OG setup before I installed here.
